I want to discuss planning the first VX Meet in Orange County, CA

With special guest: Isuzu Designer Steve Jennes (http://www.vehicross.info/forums/showpost.php?p=175814&postcount=1126) he has said that he would like to meet with us.

This will be a great opportunity to meet one of the designers of the Vx-02 (http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/3214/Vxo2_01.jpg)

As far as the date, It's looking like Saturday December 5th. Steve will be out of town until December 1st.

I need your input:
Option 1:
Cars and Coffee in Irvine (http://irvine.carsandcoffee.info/) at the Ford - Premier Automotive Group - Mazda Campus
photo gallery (http://www.carsandcoffee.info/forum/gallery.php)
map (http://irvine.carsandcoffee.info/directions.php)
A weekly Saturday morning gathering of car enthusiasts. Everything from Exotics, Hot Rods, Ultra Luxury to Rare Classics.
It would be great to get a line-up of VX's there.
7am-9am. We would have to be there at 7am or before.
Then after we would have breakfast with Steve Jennes.

Drawback, Might be a little early for those coming from LA and San Diego
I would hate to see only 2 or 3 VX's show-up, it wouldn't be fair to Steve.

Option 2:
Steve lives in Fullerton, we could meet for lunch at a restaurant in Fullerton.

Option 3:
Do Cars and Coffee in Irvine in the morning for those who want to get up early but not planning for Steve to be there.
Maybe do a quick breakfast at the Irvine Spectrum
Then we could caravan together to the Meeting Spot or just meet there later
This would be where we would catch-up with more VX's and Steve
Maybe meet there around 10am and having lunch at noon
I think Knowlwood's (http://www.knowlwoodrestaurants.com/locations.html) would be good. There's one in Irvine and Fullerton.

We might get a better turn-out this way.

What do you guys think?

I will start an official Meeting Thread after we firm-up the details.

I heard rumors that the Cars and Coffee main parking area is restricted to the "finer" cars and exotics, therefore, we would have to park our group around the perimeter somewhere. Is that true? Has any Southern Cali VX'rs been there?
Option 2 and/or 3 sounds good. For myself joining from San Diego, we are having our company Xmas party over the 14-15th weekend in November but should be available for the 7th or 21st Gene.

FWIW, I've taken my Proton VX to Cars & Coffee about a half dozen times and parked RIGHT next to Ferraris and Lambos with NO problem whatsoever! In fact, I've always gotten good feedback from the other attendees. Could be the color, though...;)

Gene, The dates you originally mentioned (10 & 17), belong to October. Did you mean November 7 & 14 - or ? November Saturday mornings look good for me for the most part.

That is good to know. I guess you just have to get there early as I assume it is "first come first serve."

Rickshaw,
I think this meet you're holding is a great idea. I'm just sorry I can't make it being as I'm in Texas and all. I hope you have a fantstic turn out from the Cali crew!
Peace.

If it's on the 23rd I might be able to join you, if you don't mind a Vegas'er crash'n the party?

I like option 1. Love to hang out early @ cars & coffee. Prolly means heading up the night b4 and hotelli'n it. Maybe I can get Jo into it and split a room. As of right now, weekends are open to me.....
Best,

Best,

Or....the San Diego crew can caravan in the morning Snowtrooper, dependent on the date for me. We can meet at Pendleton or off Hwy. 5 somewhere??? Just thinking aloud. Too bad we did not get to meet today in Sorrento Valley.

If I can avoid a "there and back again" in the same day, that's ideal for me, but I think a small squadron of VX's mobbing up to Irvine would be fun too;)

Did I miss something?!?!?!

depending on the weekend. Need to make a pilgrimage to San Diego to see family and Stone Brewing and Pizza Port. Coffee and Cars might be fun...
