I bought my VX a little over a year ago, at the time Toyota had recalled my Tacoma due to the frame issues and I needed a reliable 4x4... I always liked the way the VX looked so when I saw one for sale locally in my price range I snagged it.
it's a Silver 1999 with orange interior
-126K miles
-clean interior
-no rust, scratches, or other damage to the body
-runs exceptionally well
The previous owner took decent care of it and it had the following when I picked it up
-New rear rotors and pads
-a new transmission with less than 8K miles on it
-recent valve job/timing belt

^taken before I put the clear corner markers on
Repairs done in the last year
-fixed both driver's and passengers side binding windows
-replaced the front calipers, pads and rotors
-Repacked the front wheel bearings
-replaced the EGR Valve
-replaced the MAF
-cleared the foggy headlights
-restored the cladding with Refinish Restorer
-fixed a leak in the AC lines and had it professionally recharged.
-Full Coolant Flush
-Replaced the Fuel filter
-Replaced the Air Filter
-oil changed every 3K miles or 3 Months and filter replaced with an OEM oil filter.
Upgrades
-replaced the tires with 31" Nitto Terra Grapplers
-replaced the stock stereo with a flip out DVD player and the lower DIN with a pocket
-clear-smoked turn signals and side markers
-replaced the fuzzy hole with a 3-button panel, 2 blanks and a "hatch" button, not hooked up but I was planning on installing a door popper
-replaced the muffler with an aftermarket one
-replaced the windshield with a new OEM one
-I have a full set of stainless brake lines that I haven't got around to installing
-Magnetic Drainplug
-removed the C pillar "VehiCROSS" badges (only because the finish on the lettering was pealing and looked bad)

The Bads:
-it has the typical oil burning issue (I check it once a week and top it off when it needs it)
-it has a nickle sized ding in the passenger's door.
---------------
The VX runs like a dream and I always fix things the instant they start showing issues and fix them without taking any short-cuts. Most of the "repairs" didn't need to be done but I felt better doing them anyway. I do all the maintenance myse
Why I'm thinking about selling
I'm thinking about selling it because my heart just really isn't in this car.
I love the way it looks, I love the attention it gets on the road, and it is FANTASTIC in the snow and ice but it doesn't really fit my needs beyond that.
It's my daily driver and I really miss my old Toyota Pickup, I miss having a stick shift, and I miss having a bed to haul around car parts for my other cars (folding the seat down just doesn't cut it).
I'm thinking I might get an old late 80s 4Runner since it's got a comfy back set when it's needed, it can haul just as much as a pickup, and I can take the top off in the summer. plus they get better milage and I can find one with a stick shift.
------------------
If I kept the VX I'd probably look into a 5-speed swap and lifting it but I really don't know if I want to put that kind of extra money and effort into a vehicle that my heart really isn't in.
It's hard to get a feel for the value of a VX... what does the community think one like mine is worth?
