Is that a homemade muffler on this VX?

This is a nice video showing a VX inside and out. Not much to see for us VX veterans, except at 1:56 underneath is a strange looking box thingy. I could only conclude that it's a homemade muffler. If that's what it is, I have to say that's a pretty cool idea. If I had the tools and the skills I'd be down for that.

Make your own with the exact sound ya want. Instead of hearing some exhaust expert tell ya thay have nothing that'll fit and maybe they can rig something up and then ya get a tin can that rusts out in a year, make your own and answer only to yourself. I like it. :yesy:

That's what a Morgan-Tec looks like? It looks like ya could make that yourself. Baffle it up to your own tastes. Just put as many or as few as ya like to make it quiet or loud.

X2...I'd bet a weeks pay that's a M-T muffler & intake.

I have one (muffler, single in/dual out) in the VX vault, that Kenny found to be too loud & gave to me.

As an aside, I'll say that the cladding on that ebony certainly looks dark grey to me...;)

Here's a Morgan-Tec Muffler (new before install) and I when I ordered it I had him weld in extra baffles to quite it down just a bit.. He did very nice work ! ! All Stainless. Sorry for the bad pic...

Ok big question now - why has he got red coil tops ? i was under the impression that Hitachi - as in JDM VX's had red tops and all US versions had Black top coils nippon Denso - am i wrong ?

I've only ever seen non red coil packs (black, or maybe dark grey...:smilewink ) on Troopers.
