Saturday afternoon I drove to my parents house and drove down behind the pond levy and found some mud. I made it across by myself once without even spinning a wheel. I talked my brother into riding with down there with me (that's him laughing at me while I take pics for the VX family) and as soon as we got down there we sank like a rock. I took a different line and found some standing water hiding under the grass. It was swampy, and even with my new KM2's, I got stuck pretty bad. I tried to walk it forward and backward but it was just too sticky to clean out of the tires. I called a friend to come winch me out of it backwards... oh well :o

After some quality time with a water hose, I got the worst of the mud off. Then Sunday morning I cleaned a little more off at the car wash. Sunday afternoon I went to a ridin area where a few of my friends take their rock-crawlers when they don't feel like hauling them outta town. I tried a few of the easier hills but was too skerred to try the gnarlier ones, especially with all the folks watching. It's nothing like the riding our neighbors across the pond have posted pics of (alterastro) but it's the best I can do.

nice, fun pictures for sure.

like us 'wheelers' say. if you havent been at both ends of the tow-strap, you arent trying hard enough, so.. (phew, caught myself on the 'strap' part before ldub got me)

mud is some mean stuff, kinda addicting too. i've been sober off the mud for about a year now. (too much of a PITA to clean EVERYTHING out....)

Those pix bring back some memories.

That Tennessee gumbo can be a real beeeotch. Looking at your tires (smooth as a baby's but with accumulated mud), you would've had to red line to keep them clean & moving forward in that stuff.

I remember getting into some really nasty red clay near Tullahoma. I spent as much time sliding sideways as I did moving forward. I had a blast though. Ended up with mud clods the size of softballs landing on my hood.

Exactly. That was some sticky stuff. I did bounce it off the rev-limiter a couple times, but wasn't worth trashing anything trying to get out.

Buy yourself a set or two of thick plastic floor mats. They can be placed under your tires and help get yourself out of the mud as long as its not too deep and soupy.:yesy:

Good idea and they'll keep your shoes clean.

I have no response to that.
