View Full Version : Posting Full Size Pics
I've noticed lately that a few folks, who shall remain nameless, have been having a little trouble with posting full size images...:smilewink
I'm hoping this brief explaination will help, rather than hinder...:_thinking
When you get to a point in your post where you wish to add an image, click where it says [open], over there in "My Pics", under the nice smilie selection----->
Then click on the drop down menu circled in red in this pic...
http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/posting_pics_1_0.JPG
Select "original image", then click on the pic you wish to include...that's it, done!
If you wish to add more images, may I request that you use the "enter" key on your keyboard between pics.
This will "stack" the pics vertically, so side scrolling (a known P.I.T.A) isn't an issue...:yesgray:

Glad you brought this up Dub.....for the last 2 months or so, if I try to CHANGE the selection in the drop down menu with the various image sizes (clickable thumb, original image etc...) my entire browser (Safari- Mac system:bgwo:) crashes and closes. So I just have to post whatever picture selection that box is set on (clickable thumb usually). I figured it's real low priority and could wait until Moncha's 100%. Also thought it could be something with my Mac. I've started having inconsistent graphic problems but haven't taken in for fixin' yet.
Anybody else have this same problem? PC or Mac?
I believe that to be a browser problem, but not sure...:_confused
Maybe one of the smarter kids will chime in.
I have the same thing happen with Safari or Google Chrome, but when I use Mozilla, everything works as it should.

Some people are just photo attachment challenged ... but they get over it.

Anyone who has that problem with side scrolling can fix it easily for under $200. You're gonna have to get a widescreen monitor eventually, so get yourself one for Christmas and big pics will be no problem for ya. Get down to Walmart and pick up a 19-20" wide monitor, plug it in, set your screen res for 1440x900, and that's it! I did that about two years ago and I love it.
Check out this online deal. Have it shipped to a store for free, or to your home for $0.97. There's no excuse now-

At 1440 wide the message area here is 1199 wide, so a 1024 wide pic is no problem. This is what I see at vx.info-
This thread at 1440 wide (http://www.drivehq.com/file/df.aspx/publish/mgpa/vx/vx5/1440wide.jpg)
I forgot ya can turn off the sidebar and that makes the message area 1371 wide.

Great info.
I work out of my house (when I'm not traveling) and use a 22" monitor and NEVER need to side scroll.
LOVE IT....:bgwb::bgwo::smilewink:bwgy:

BOY ... I've still got that dunce cap with your name on it.
;Do;
come on down to colorado, ill buy ya a beer AND wear your dunce cap ;)
Thanks for that Larry.
Good try, and you might have made it "Idiot proof", but you didn't quite make it "Dumb Idiot proof". :bgwb::bwgy::smilewink
One of the nameless people (who shall remain nameless) told me they were still having trouble.
Then I realised you actually have to upload the picture into your gallery before you can post it to a thread.
Or has this nameless person still got the bull by the tits?? :winky::winkgray::smilewink

because some people cant post correctly? I will get a new monitor when mine breaks. Most likely upgrade to a laptop and I can guarantee it wont have a 22 monitor on it.
so i should spend money because some people cant post correctly? I will get a new monitor when mine breaks. Most likely upgrade to a laptop and I can guarantee it wont have a 22 monitor on it.

It'll be a long time before I'm 100%, if ever. I figure any problem with the forum is a priority so, I'll get on it.
First thing Sue, make sure that you have the latest Java installed. Sun released a few duds in the recent past and that causes a whole bunch of problems since a lot of the site runs on Java scripts.
If anyone has problems, please notify me or post it in the Site ??? & Problems (http://www.vehicross.info/forums/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=19) section so I won't forget about them/it.
