I would say there's little out there to improve economy. Performance about the only thing that will get you a significant increase is an Alpine S/C, but those are scarce to non-existent anymore (those that have them either bought them a long time ago, or bought them used from other members). Handling is a matter of perspective; are you looking to increase off-road or on-road handling? If you're looking for the former, I would encourage you to use the search feature, as there's gobs of information on this site that's presented in more detail in other threads than we could retype here. If you're after the latter, I'm not sure what to recommend other than improved brakes (SS brakelines and drilled rotors are the most common methods we see on this site) and summer performance tires. OEM shocks were pretty tight to begin with, so unless you're going to do something pretty extreme (from a visual perspective) like lowering, you're probably okay there. Hope that helps, at least as a starting point.

Just the color
The only difference between models is that 99's came with a different climate control & 16" rims. The Ironman package is just an emblem thang.
As far as upgrades for economy ... GFL. Let us know if you come up with anything.
As far as performance, you'll have to be more specific. Are you looking for on road performance or off road performance.
The search function should be able to provide you with some very good reading. It's located on the left panel of the home page.

There's another thread going right now that might also help with the differences question.

Ummmmm, good point!
In reality, bone stock I got 22 MPG driving all highway, driver only.
But best guess ....the absolute best you can expect is "about" 19, with most I'd say around 15, some report 11 MPG. That's kinda the range with many having larger tires and/or rims, roof racks, baskets... Just some ballparks!
Some report better mileage with premium fuel, some don't.

Wow - you beauty - good find.
If you buy the full kit you can get an extra 170 HP.:p:smilewink
Sorry, but they lost me when they listed -
1. Electric hair dryer - errr Supercharger.
2. Fuel Ionizer
3. Molecule fuel saver.
All of those have been debunked as frauds for years.
If they are prepared to sell them, then that brings their whole range of products into question.
But if I remember correctly, someone on here was trying a fuel additive to reduce fuel consumption. Can't remember who, or what it was?? Perhaps ether??
Any updates??

From what I can tell this the only way you're going to make her run any cheaper.

Hm - even with an electric motor the VX is way too heavy to be economically run via electricity - the weight of the battery packs usually push it over the top in most cases (the new lithium ions are lighter and more efficient but your still fighting raw weight of the vehicle) - however the VX is already so heavy (read that as full, ladder boxed frame pluse driveline and everything else) that you hit a point of diminishing returns. For real economy a turbo diesel swap would be the best idea but even with that I doubt you'd get more than 20-25 mpg - maybe someone in the UK can chime in who has a Trooper TDI (not sure if the short bed, same as the VX was ever offered in a diesel but that would give you the best approximate).
