Righto on saturday went up to Mt Adams which is 20k out of Martinborough.
Heres a pic of the map to show where we went considering most people here will be like where the hells he taking about !?
(sorry pics are pretty boring :()
Kinda retiring my Vx from 4x4ing as after driving through the bush i have about 1000 scratches and to be honest i didnt buy it for that i brought it as a daily driver and to do a few mods and very easy tracks.
Accordingly the Shiny trips that we have going over here, state on thier shiny trips, that bush scratches can be expected in 95% of the trips.
So im pretty much gonna stick to tracks that are known like coastal trips and driving to the mall:p
Going to the panel beater and gonna get there opiniona and see if they can buff them out.
I also got this comment on my 4x4 forum.
**its the nature of 4wding, you have to drive in inhospitable terrain, otherwise theres not much point in having the 4wd in the first place.***
In my response to that i couldnt help but think yes fair enough, but i really dont want my 4x4 damaged or scratched for a 30 min bit of fun.
And i love my vx too much to sell it just cause im not gonna go 4x4ing and get it munted.

heres a few pics of some of the scratches. Dont think any of them have gone through the clear coat so with a hell of a lot buffing they should come out i hope!
tho gonna let the panelbeaters take care of that.

Just think of them as bush pin strips. I also have a 1000 scratches but they always buff out with a bit of elbow grease.....

Possibly! tho im replacing the muffler on mine as since i took the cat converter out it has more sound going into the stock muffler which sounds lovely under 3000rpm after that it sounds like it has a screwed up baffle and bad as rasp!.
Hopefuly the muffler the shop puts on has a nice growl to it, i trust the shop and have been there before, love the fact they have 6 rally cars in there shop!.
Ill upload a video of the exhaust once completed as i know everyone loves to listen to that isuzu engine growl ( ive prob watched Rickshaws exhaust videos 100s of times now :bwgy:)

I put a resonator on the back of mine, gives it the right amount of growl out the back and sounds dead sexy when rev'd! :D but atm you can hear the exhaust leaking from up the front....i am hoping its not to bad. I had a good look at it today but the car was outside (its 43 here) and it was to hot to stuff around.
will be looking forward to the video. I just got one of those mountain bike helm cams which i am keen to test. should be fun!

Headers-cat-resonator. after tomorrows visit to the shop (TOD check light) i am taking the pwny up to the exhaust shop to get a quote on a dual exhaust...after they look for the leak :D so if there is some spare change i might go ahead and dual it...
I must agree on NZ been picture worthy, only spent 4 days over there a few years ago and i was very taken by the country.

Very Cool, Mr Fussypants! ;) I hear ya regarding the VX retirement plan - I walk out to my VX and sometimes what stands out most are the brush scratches. It's too fun to leave at home tho and the Jeep is coooooold to drive this time of year!

Lol when i say retirement plan still gonna 4x4 tho only basic stuff, like coastal trips - basicly stuff that isnt gonna ruin the paintwork. Still keen to get it covered in mud :D.
Once i get a 2nd 4x4 that i wont bother with the paint too much will be good.

Sprey,
I can see where you're coming from. That color on the VX is absolutely gorgeous. One of my favorite VX pix that I put on the picture frame for Moncha was yours cresting a hill with the sky as a background that is almost the same color.

Whoa didnt know you did that Tom! thats awesome! :)
Rofl cant believe how faded my insert is in that pic!
I must admit with the color i search and search and ive only come across of 2 pics thats seem to have the same color or close enough and both of the vxs are in japan.
only 6 in its color 4 stock and 2 175 ltd.
Weirdly enough tho ive spotted few isuzu mu's over here that have a very simular color.
Aww Crotch its not just a ordinary black its a Ebony black?
Theres a Black vx over here it was for sale awhile back, had a custom spoiler and a few other things it was mean as.
