anyone play the drums????
I owned a drum kit when i was around 17-19 and thought it was awesome, it was second hand from a guy in a heavy metal band so it had 9 drums and 9 symbols, basically you couldn't miss, lol :D Anyway i sold it when i went to Uni as i couldn't use it at all. Then once i had finished Uni i bought a chrome pearl export to mess around on, again i loved it and picked up the bug but due to getting my current job in London i sold it to afford the move up here.
Now that me and the boss have moved into a bigger flat i have room for a kit so went to wembley drum centre and tried out the electronic kits for the first time and they were actually damn good fun and of course quiet enough to play in a flat! Not the same as an accoustic kit of course but Very realistic and offer alot more features. after lots of searching and finding a kit i liked i have just picked up a new kit from ebay (someone won it from a radio station) which i'll be picking up next weekend, so im now the proud owner of a Yamaha DTXpress IV and cant wait to get back into it. WHo knows, with the amount of bands around maybe i'll get good enough to play with one!!!

Who knows, maybe you'll hook up with 3 other guys and start up a band. I remember there was a pretty good group from the U.K. when I was growing up, can't remember their name but I think it was something "The _______'s" last name began with a "B". Their drummers name began with an R like rocket.

Wish i learnt to drum , Well hey theres still time :D.
I was a sound crew manager at my old college, we basicly setup for events etc, on spare time in the music room i always used to piss around on the drums.
Tho with that the best part was setuping while everyone is in class and just blasting music and not being told off :D.
I have a habbit of drumming on the desk or sorta air drumming from time to time lol ( yes prob looks retarded as )
Think its time for me to buy a set!.
Quite enjoying watching this dudes drum covers.

Hmmm, I play around the drums as well, played through junior high and up to senior year, couldn't be in band and AP physics II, that was a no brainer choice for me. I bought a small offbrand set last year to play on. Very good stress reliever, and my boys are picking it up too. My wife minored in music in college and plays sax and piano. Hopefully I can convince her to start teaching them to read music soon.
I have never messed with the digital drums, other than Rockband of course, which I enjoy immensely!!!! Have fun!!!

I played acoustic kits a few times in my life, never in a band, just for fun. I bought a roland kit from Craigslist a few years ago and its a great way to drum as often as you want.

I bought a basic td3 module at first then, added lots o pads and upgraded to a td10 and had it reprogrammed with a newer set of sounds thru Vexpressions ltd. I've heard the Yamaha is a great kit also.
When I first got the kit 2 years ago, I played so often (couple hrs a nite) I wound up with hand/wrist problems. Now I play once or twice a week only.
Get the best headphones you can afford... makes all the difference.
And everyone knows the best thing that came from over there was PINK FLOYD

AWESOME!!!!
I actually ended up getting the Yamaha over a TD4, i prefere the Roland Kit but the Yamaha brain was alot more fun and had some great functions and as i was buying it to play around with and not gig i thought...what the hell. plus i only paid £488 for a new Yamaha (unwanted competition prize) and the roland is £800
Don't suppose you have any drumless jamming tracks do you ???? :D

LOL once you have a set of drums THEN you will know about air drumming :winky:
When in Tech School (Phoenix AZ) I had 2 guitarists and 1 basist that I moved in with. I bought a set just so we could mess around (I knew nothing about playing drums). We ended up playing at bars by the time our 1.5 years of school was up. We were called the "Half-Mast Halo's" and did a bunch of Melvins, Modest Mouse, and Tool cover songs and a few of our own Metal jams. Never made anything out of it but the shows paid for our Uhaul and the beer which was well worth it :yesy: Lots of fun!
Since back in Alaska I had a band for a little bit (punk band) but our Bassist actually became a missing person on his 21st B-day and I really haven't played much at all since then. I have them set up at a freinds house, we jam about once a month now. And I always bring them out once a year at our bluegrass/drug festival to do some jamming in the woods.

hey BBVX, awesome !!!!!
Well, bit of drama. I drove all the way to birmingham from London to go pick up the Yamaha DTXpress and the stupid cow actually had a DTXplorer :_wtf:
So i actually paid £100 more than the thing she had was worth, so i told her to refund the money and I left.....:mado: The little adventure cost about 4 hours and £70 of fuel......
Anyway, went back to the drumshop this weekend and picked up one of these... (goverment are offering 0% finance on musical equipment :D )
