I got a check engine light on my way to work, freaked me out because it flashed about 3 times before staying steady and I always heard flashing is bad. I ran the code and it is 0305, I reset it and continued on my way to work....never came back on. Find out it means cylinder misfire.....and just want to know if that means maybe bad spark plug???
I wouldn't sweat it too much, unless it comes back.
Could be all kinds of reasons...a little chunk of carbon that temporarily bridged the plug gap, a batch of crappy gas, etc.
Just keep an eye out for another CEL.

The flashing really made me nervous especially since I was driving up a steep highway with no shoulder to pull over, had to keep moving......have you heard of #5 cylinder failing? I guess the light would have come back on than.....you guys be thankful you dont live her like Jay does, I drive him batty!

Also, if some bits break loose in the cylinder will it sound like kinda pinging type sound every once in awhile? I better get a compression test to ease my mind!

A lot of goofy codes can be thrown by a bad intake manifold gasket...

Pinging under acceleration could very well be bad gas.

+1, I agree on a bad tank of gas. I had a similar situation with a CEL in Kansas after I filled up one tank with E-85 ethanol and got a CEL shorty after. At the next gas station I cleared the code and filled up the VX with premium... the CEL never came back. That happened during the middle of a 1200 mile road trip, so I'm pretty sure it was the gas.
Then again, its not a bad idea to check your spark plugs just in case.
