I am in need of 2 new tires before Moab and go figure they have discontinued my size.....went through this years ago when BFG did the same thing....so I have 2 more than 1/2 new tires on front and now I guess need to replace all 4, plus full size spare.....so question is what should I do? Go an inch taller and an inch narrower to the 32x11.5x15?? And if so does anyone run that size and have a photo I could see? Ugh...I do not like change and I kinda need to move quick since Moab is right around the corner!

Two words for ya.....Terra Grappler.:biggringr

Sorry, doesn't answer your question, but I just like the tires so much that I bought my second set a few weeks ago and finally put them on the VX this past weekend. Rollin' on the TG's again....gotta love it.

Seriously, though, I guess it depends on the look that you're going for. Right now it looks like your tires stick out past your fenders, so do you still want that look, or do you want them to tuck up in the fender wells more? Could you find a tire with a similar look to your current ones from another manufacturer so you would still have the same look?

I like SAME, I want the same look or closest to it! Had the TG's on this one when I first got it and prefer this look.....but the width of 12.5 is discountinued.....so wondering if 32x11.5x15 is the closest thing to looking the same? I think it maybe my only alternative....ugh....

Cooper Zeon LTZ seem to be getting a following too. I like mine. 285/60-18 run about $160- $180 out the door. Love the TGs too though.

Lisa, are you looking to stick with BFG's? If so then you'll have to go with their line of tires, if not you may be able to find a tire with a similar look and size to the tires that you currently have. If you do go with an 11.5" wide tire instead of a 12.5" wide tire you will only be losing 1/2" per side so it will make a difference on how they look, but not that much. Run outside with a ruler and see if you could live with losing 1/2" from how far your tires stick out.

What is the total size of your current tires (size and aspect ratio if it's listed on them....i.e. 285/60/R18)?

current is 31x12.5x15

I think I can live with give or take a 1/2 inch......LOL

pro comp all terrain, used to have bfg's all terrain til they did away with the size......

y'all I just am a tad freaked out by a 32" tall tire.....what do you guys think?

Why are you freaked out about a 32? I have a buddy here with 32x11.50's on his Toyota and they look awesome. I know it's not a VX but easy to see the style and size. I'd just do the 32', that's what I am going to be running on mine here soon.

I bet you can find 2 new tires of the make and model you like. Try ebay and the tire wholesalers. When a model is being discontinued the factory remains are generally wholesaled out instead of trying to find space.

I have tried, googled and everything! 4 wheel parts probably WANTS to sell me a full set instead so they may not say if they have em or not, should I call an out of state 4 wheel parts?

what the tires you like are but try www.tirerack.com and www.tiresavings.com also ebay using brand and tire size limiting to 4x4 shops is a waste of time if a place sells tires they have tires a 4x4 place is most likely waiting for an order and drop shipping from the warehouse.

Lisa,

I'm kinda in the same boat. My fronts are worn out but the rears are still good. If I could find 1 Wrangler MT 33x12.50R15, then I could get another year before buying a new full set.

Don't you guys rotate your tires? I'm on my ninth set of tires and I've never seen even the slightest sign of unusual wear. I've also had plenty of front end alignments.

You can rotate your tires in your own driveway in twenty minutes. No excuses. Believe it or not, I was actually planning on doing that today. :yesy:

I used to rotate mine at least twice a year. I've been a neglectful owner of late.:embarasse

first off to everyone, thanks, but I had warranty issues with 2 tires when they were less than like a 1/3 worn, so I got free replacements is why I am always just haveing to replace 2 at a time normally. Now on the search function, of course I am not retarded and have searched for the exact size on tirerack, discounttire, google, craigslist, and ebay, BEFORE I ever posted anything here. I have decided to go with the 32x11.5x15 and maybe the 912 springs in the rear and remove my spacers back there, some say they didnt have to do longer rear brake lines with the 912 springs, but others say they did, so I need confirmation on that.

Twisted Symphony posted on 4/10 he had some unused s.s. brake lines...in case you end up needing them...http://vehicross.info/forums/showpost.php?p=190533&postcount=4

Also, I love to negotiate prices on anything to do with a car.....
I've purchased many many tires from TireRack over the past 20+ yrs, but in the last 5 yrs or so, I've found that most "local" places will match their prices or come real close. Print out the page with the tire/price from T.R., call around the local stores, Discount Tire, Big O, Goodyear, BFG, PepBoys, private tire shops...and ask if they'll match or come near T.R. price. Ask for the owner or manager to ask about pricing.

Since you have to pay for mounting/balancing and sales tax (sometimes) somewhere once you receive the T.R. tires, you have to factor that amount in for an apples-to-apples comparison. Buying 4 gives you more negotiation power too.

Yeah, the local places usually have to order the tires you want, but that's usually less than one week to get them.

Another tidbit...T.R. will deliver your tires anywhere you want...so if I buy from them, I arrange ahead of time to have them delivered to my shop of choice..then I don't have to haul them. :-)

If you are putting 912's in then why not go to 33x12.5 r15? Here are some examples:

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?pc=33668&counter=1&ar=1250&rd=15&sw=false&cs=33

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?pc=31940&counter=1&ar=1250&rd=15&sw=false&cs=33

So are these the 32x11.5 r15 you are thinking of:

Unless you're changing to longer travel shocks you aint gonna droop any more than you do now(:p), so your brake lines will be fine as-is.

Yep, now I have to get the new rear spings installed for her before Moab. Hope that will get me out of the doghouse.

VX Crazy--- My best advice would be just to get two(2) more Pro-Comp A/T's that you are currently using from 4WheelParts and not make any changes to your existing set-up/suspension. If Pro-Comp has discontinued your current A/T tire size, there is plenty of new stock sitting on a tire wharehouse shelf somewhere. You just need to find them via the internet, because those two(2) Pro-Comp A/T tires in your existing size are still out there. Find them and get them shipped to you-- problem solved.:bgwb:

If you got 35's, I'll bring the 40's. You're gonna need them once we start cutting.:bwgy:
