alright, so i had before and after pictures for everyone so they could see the difference before and after mods... but apparently i deleted it.
so, i bought my 4Runner approx. 6 months ago now. and i wanted to give everyone a cap of what ive done.
therefore, this thing was COMPLETELY bone stock, there was absolutely NO mods done to this vehicle when i bought it.
http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/3249/1202091150-00.jpg

first, i added a stereo system (in-dash nav, 2 amps and 2@12's Kenwood subs)
(no pics sorry.... dont like to advertise my sound systems much)

next, i transfered my roof rack off my VX to the Runner so i could maintain that look and the rare Thule snowboard racks that are no longer produced :naughty:
i then purchased a completely custom front bumper to keep my new vehicle safe and increase approach angle offroad...
http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/3249/1202091153-02.jpg

My next purchase was a set of soft-8 steel wheels with some better offset...
http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/3249/0414101447-00.jpg
i then removed the factory running boards due to lack of ground clearance.
(no pics, sorry... pointless)
Added a lift,

http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/3249/0414101458-00.jpg
added some Nitto Terra Grapplers in 285/70/R16
http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/3249/0414101447-01.jpg
added some Hella Supertone Horns due to the lack of power on the toyota motor, and consequent getting cut off...

and this is the finished product!! ---->

Looks good, Jack. If I were to go out and buy any other SUV right now, it would be a 2002-2005 4Runner. Keep up the good work!

And it still isnt a VX.

Just doing some teasing it looks good. I myself would not get a Toy Yoda because they do not come in Proton. I like the Proton color so much that when my 1974 Jensne Healey was ready for paint I chose to have it painted Yellow as well.

There was a guy from Colorado...Jeff Pothan or something? Anyway, he used to come to ZuZoo all the time in his 4Runner. He had a full length aluminum skid plate made for it.

I remember he was jealous of the rear axle travel of my Trooper, it had much longer axle links than his 4Runner did.

Nice rigs though, if you can fit into them. Same for the Xterra...

thanks guys.... its really nice to have a locker from the factory. and ive been looking into an ox-locker for the front :naughty:

its also really nice to have 4 doors... probably my favorite thing about having a bigger vehicle.

it did really well on sunday, we spent 8 hours on the trail. me and one other guy didnt get stuck out of 10 rigs ;) (the other 8 people had 37"+ tires and they all had to be winched out of piles of snow) definately gonna be hard to get used to the clutch though. definately burned it up a few times on sunday

Hey Jack, it's really coming along! You should look into running the Spring Creek trail outside of Georgetown after the thaw. http://www.fsjbrutus.com/jeep/SpringCreek/scindex.html

It's a really fun trail with a rock garden at the top of it. It will totally test your Toy... if it seems to be too much to handle you can just turn around.

Haha have you seen the office where they are trying to sell an x-terrible and their main selling point is: "it is great for picking up girls cause when you pull up to another one on the road there is always a girl driving"..... haha, both my little sister and little brother have them, and yes they are xterrible, in fact that is what they both call their x-terra ;)

Hey Jack, check out this wicked build up of a wicked 4-Runner!

This guy has a shop in CO and look at those welds!!!! :yesy:

haha thats hillarious Justin. I actually am pretty good friends with that guy, i helped him move around and hold up a bunch of those parts on that runner.

i used to visit his shop on a daily basis my last year of college. that thing is a BEAST!!!! he has about $20k in just suspension upgrades (he was telling me that his front solid 'diamond axle' is almost 10k by itself)

I have talked to him a lot about what and how to do my 4runner. and actually trailgear finally came out with a decent SAS for 3rd gen runners... and not too bad at $2500 for the whole set. More than likely it will remain ifs for a while though.

I may be looking into more suspension lift and longer travel links for the rear this summer :naughty:

HAHA! No kidding! That's awesome; what a great contact to have! I would trust that guy to do work unsupervised on my own rig any day!

Have you done anything to your Runner lately? And btw, what ever became of Stitch?

no work on the runner lately. My cash flow has been going elsewhere.

However, i think next weekend im gonna build a belly pan for myself ;)

and possible start on the rear bumper. :naughty:

stitch- finally came and got it. i havent seen it or heard from him since, but i have some youtube vids with him and his friends 4 wheeling it, so at least i know its being used. :o
