Hi, my '99 Vx sound a bit louder at the throttle and I think is a signal of running "rich". :confused:Where do I begin to look? My friend's Vx doesn't make any sound and even runs better than mine...much better. This problem I have it since I bought it three years ago. never pay attention thinking that it was ok. Thanks for any advice. Please reply to axelifigueroa@hotmail.com:smilewink

If it's running rich you should be able to smell fuel in the exhaust. Should be quite a bit of buildup on the exhaust pipe too. Unlikely that that the tone or noise level is changing from it running rich though. I would lean towards another culprit. Vacuum leak or bad gasket (though you would/should expect a CEL).
Check to see that your muffler is still there.
And not rusted through.

It's probably just your stereo running lean...

Check the clutch on your fan. If that gets worn, it can very loud.

Also, a loose EGR nut can create a louder exhaust note. (But I couldn't hear that over my PV1 catback!)

Ditto on the above. But get a engine code reading. My bet is a #171 and you'll have to change your common chamber gaskets. Torque only to 13lbs. or hand tight max. Keep us posted.
