1998 Kawasaki VN800 Drifter and Ural sidecar, modified to a WW2 army theme.

Went to view it today and fell inlove with it so put a deposit down, shook hands and take delivery on Sunday :dan_ban:

This will be my first road bike since a nasty accident 7 years ago, which is why it isn't a solo bike!! cant hold it up with my knackered left leg.

Its the only one with a Ural sidecar and it has all been done by a custom engineers that make racing sidecar.

What do you recon ???

Looks well done and loads of fun...why did they put the sidecar on the wrong side of the bike?

Just kidding, man that will be sweet! :yeso::yesgray::yesy:

I also had a nasty motorcycle accident seven years ago. I buggered my right wrist/fingers so I can't really ride even if I wanted too. Seven years ago I put my wife through hell. And now I have a seven year old son (yes also seven years ago). I really couldn't be so selfish to put them through that again even though I'm older and wiser. So now I have the VX to protect me and give me that thrill. But yes once a biker always a biker, and with so many biker friends I often feel like "the eunuch at an orgy". But nice retro bike all the same - enjoy.

You're a nutter!

I always had a slight "bike would be cool" urge until I went to the 'Ring at Easter a few years ago. The way bikers were smearing themselves across the countryside was less than funny. I decided I liked some steel between me and the countryside. The closest I would get is a Caterham I think...

That is boss!

No need for electric shifter - with a sidecar, jockey shift or tank shift and suicide clutch are safe and look much more "period" than a solenoid/wires/switches.

A 20mm AA shell would make a nice WWII oriented handle... :yeso:

Aw, you the f'ing man! Always wanted one! I can't ride a bike anymore anyways with my mangled leg so you will do well to get some quality riding in on it for me. :bwgy:

CrotchPocket--- Ok, perhaps the British "Dough Boy" helmet would fit your tastes better. In the meantime, you can paint some British Multi-Color Circle emblems on the sides of your scooter just like the Sopwith Camel aircraft of WWI or the P-40 WarHawk Spitfire aircraft of WWII. Now, that would look way cool.:yeso:

By the way, now I remember exactly where I saw your motorcycle in a movie-- It wasn't so much "The Great Escape", but rather it was Cheech & Chong's famous "Up In Smoke" (the original) which had Tom Skerritt playing a Viet Nam vet having combat flashbacks and riding a side-car motorcycle with Cheech Marin in the side-pod. Same exact O.D. Green color and everything. Check-out "Up In Smoke", you'll be amazed at the simularities.

The roof boxer is a great lid (although it was the helmet I was wearing when I had my m/c accident and the ambulance guys didn't know how to lid the chin) but be careful about thay black visor as I believe that are still not street legal ( or has the law changed again?). Also is the lid fibreglass or abs, as they were originally abs (and not as good as the f/g one)?

Hi Kirk, i actually got the new Boxer V8, which is essencially a different helmet although looks the same, on this one there's a button holding the poppers so i'll be sure to let the ambulance guys know :D

Its this in matt black
