Heres my finished heat shield for the air filter installed. Noticable improvement. Supercharged VX feel much stronger with the engine cold because heat hasn't soaked into every component of the intake yet.

Here is the humble origin of this part! Its a Home Depot $2.97 trashcan that I cut to fit.

Some of the best ideas come from the simplest things.. Good job it looks as if it really belongs there.
You could probably put some mylar backed blanket insulation on the inner portions to get an even better effect.

Wow, it looks almost like the stock airbox - glad to hear it works for you.

It was inevetable that I would find a sutable yellow container. This is also a Home Depot item, its a diesel can, $15.

Its much stiffer than the trash can I previously used, and should hold its shape better.

Cold air is power.

John, nice idea. It would have been cool if you could have worked it out where the "Diesel" wording would show on top of the heat shield.

Keep 'em guessing!

Hotsauce,

BRILLIANT!!!, good thinkin & a nice job...but I just gotta know,

Inquiring minds want to know,

Whats next? Beer can overflow containers. The Heineken 24oz can would look pretty sweet.
