Lift Kits

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I just purchased an immaculate 1999 Ironman Edition and I would like to lift it just a little bit. I did some research on the internet and ran across a spacer and spring lift kit by Daystar. Their spacers and springs will lift the rear 1.5" and lift the front 2.5". Has anyone used these kits or heard anything about them? Thanks.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. The link to the review by Rikshaw was excellent. I looked a a few other links as well for comparison. In the review by Rikshaw, he stated up front that when he had his new tires and wheels installed the tire shop cranked his torsion bars up about two inches. The lift he has achieved is about what I'm looking for but If I don't want to have my torsion bars cranked would I be able to achieve the same result with 913s or 912s, with or without the spacers, and with or without the stock spacer alignment insert?

This brings up another question: as my VX is a 99' and has 16" wheels (I understand Isuzu swithched to 18" in 00' & 01"), should I switch to 18s? As I understand it, 18s would only give me a wider stance; is that correct?

The only way to achieve a lift in the front is to crank the torsion bars...there is no other way. The 912/913 are springs for the rear.

Other than diameter the factory 16 &18 inch wheels are the same width and have the same offset so the stance will be the same.

You have to crank the torsion bars to lift the front, there is no other way around it unless you redesign the front suspension (i.e. solid axle swap, etc). The 18's shouldn't change the stance unless you get the Borbet's, I think the 16" chrome wheel and the 18" chromee wheel have similar offsets (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I have 16's on my 99', it had the 18" Borbet's on it when I bought her. I used 16" Isuzu Snowflake wheels and they widened my stance a bit, I'm running OME 912 springs in the rear with no spacer and cranked torsion bars up front. HotrodA10--- Congrat's on your purchase, and welcome to the forum. My question is do you want to lift for sheer "macho look" or do you want to lift out of necessity for bigger tires??? What O.D. size of tire are you hoping to install??? A size 32" O.D. tire in 275/65R18 will fit on a 100% stock VX without any lifting or modifications (no TB cranks & no RS) if they are mounted on the '00/'01 OEM 18x7 rims. There are also comparable 16" tires in the 32" O.D. range that will fit on your existing OEM 16x7 rims without lifting either. Any tire over 32" O.D. will require some sort of TB crank/RS upgrade.

If you desire a set of '00/'01 OEM 18x7 rims to expand your 18" tire options, I have a spare OEM set of four(4) for sale at $275 plus P&H to your zip code.

just had some tires installed, and had to lift to get clearence. i need 1 1\2" in the rear so i installed a 1 1\2 lift. but the results were less than a half inch gain. anyone else experiance this too? my shop said ill have to go to a 2 1\2- 3" lift just to get the 1 1\2 that i need to level my ride

What did you do to lift it? I installed OME 912's and got a good deal of lift from them. What size tire are you running?

18x10 rims 32 tires. torsion lift in the front. 1 1\2 daystar lift & leveling kit in the back

The 1.5" coil spacer? And the fronts are because you went with a x10 rim, how wide are your tires? You could have done a x8 rim easily.

yes the 1.5" coil spacer fron daystar. the rims i wanted only came in one width in the 18s. still trying to figuer out why i didnt get the full lift out of the kit.
