Ok, so I have an '01 VX that is definitely black, but when using my VIN to register and insure it, all the paperwork states that it's and Ironman...? If anyone knows about this...or if you owned an Ironman and painted it black and traded it in at Pruitt Ford in Burkburnett, TX, please let me know. Otherwise I've got a rare VX on my hands.

I ran your VIN in my dealer CD and it came outta the factory as ebony black. Some places may consider 'em all as an Ironman Vehicross 'cuz they just don't know much about 'em. :_confused

Well, I did find the original dealer info paper thing still in it and it also says that it was originally ebony black, but then again, looking at some of the parts on the underside, there were some painted white.

My ebony has the same info on the registration. I just ignored it, thinking it's a fluke.

Do your seats have an Ironman logo on them?

USAA has my Proton listed as an Ironman.

It's just an insurance thang & makes no difference on coverage. Certain insurance companies have all VehiCri listed as Ironman.

State Farm usta list my old Samurai as a station wagon.

DMV usta list my old maroon Dodge van as "Red" - never could get them to change it.

State Farm lists my STi as a "station wagon" (being a hatchback and all). No complaints.... I pay a LOT less than if it were listed as the sedan. Even paid more for my WRX. DMV also considers it a wagon. ;)

this issue is because there is no other model than the Ironman. I have had this issue at the parts desk too. There is always a blank for model and when you do the drop down only Ironman shows up so my guess people are filling it in not knowing no model is an option.

I have an '00 Ebony and actually just noticed the other day that my registration and my insurance list it as an Ironman. Like others have said, I don't think it makes any difference in taxes or insurance coverage so I just let them (DMV and insurance company) wallow in their ignorance.:p
