Emboldened by the tremendous support I got with my brake problems, let me mention another problem.
My driver's side window often refuses to move down. I take it to the mechanic, he removes the door panel, the window starts working. The motor is very hot. He thinks I should replace the motor. I thought I would ask your advice. Do you think the motor is the problem or is it getting hot because of something else that is preventing it from working? Where would I get a motor? Thanks again.
You might first try lubing the window tracks, front & rear, with silicone spray lube.
This may also be of some help.

Window problems are probably one of the most common issues on the VX.
They are notorious for binding, sticking, jumping the track, tilting, burning up the motors due to the severe binding....you get the idea..
Here's a TON of threads that have good info on the issue and how to repair. These threads are all helpful, so I collected them and saved them in one place, just for instances like this. They are ALL important to read, so you'll understand all the issues with them.
As time went on, "most" found that buying the SBC metal brackets for $65 was the best fix. It's what I did.
I know there's a lot here to read, but it's been a very common issue and many have tried different things to solve it......

the SBC brackets will not fix any regulator issues, if the plastic nubs on the regulator have worn down, the window will never move up and down straight. You'll either need to engineer a solution (i.e. replace the function of the plastic nubs with metal brackets) or replace the regulator entirely.

X2 atilla, I had/have this problem with mine. My driver's side regulator had a broken plastic tab on the front side and I "rigged" the old plastic window tab onto it for a fix but it's still not perfect. I haven't wanted to shell out the money for a whole new regulator yet as it still works fine just once in awhile it'll lean a bit. Most of the time it goes up and down just fine. I also have the SBC brackets. The previous owner of my truck tried to rig up a solution for the broken plastic window clips and I think messed up the regulator in the process.

Thanks, I'll need a bag of snickers. But you guys on the Board really are terrific about helping people.
