I was looking through an Ebay ad and saw the snap strap on a 2001. Seems much more adjustable/better than my 99. Any way to swap them???

WTF? I didn't know there were differences in the strap. My 2000 has the velcro kind, some maybe this was a 2001-only feature?

My 2001 has the velcro adjustment hooked to the metal hook. When I bought mine this was broken and I got a new one from Merlin. Took about two months to get and less than 20 bucks.

Ya my 99' doesn't have that, I actually took the little strap with hook off the seat and used it on the rear seat release when the strap for that broke. I looped it around to make a handle used the metal hook to clamp around the release lever lol.

Just buy a cambuckle style strap at harbor freight for 3 bucks, unscrew the original strap and put it through the new strap, MUCH MUCH better than the original, and easier to adjust.

Or just take out your back seat. Viola, strap issues are solved and you have tons more cargo space. :bgwb:

It actually doesnt take up that much room folded up. It is only about 10" deep when folded up,and it sits above the rear "foot" area anyway. Not really useful space. It just looks bigger with it out. I currently have had it out a month or, I put in quick release cotter pins, so if needed, it only takes a few minutes to put back in. Still faster than the old minivan we had when I was a kid.
