Since I've had it, the idle sometimes idles @ 2500 rpms. It'll do it for a few days then stop. After rooting around, I figured it might be the intake manifold gaskets. Finally got it apart, and it appears that the lower manifold gaskets, which I've read are usually a hard plastic, are actually a rubber gasket. Looking at all my service records, the gaskets were never replaced. Interesting to say the least. I'll see if I can get some pics later tonight.

You are correct, sir. For some reason, it looked surprisingly like rubber. But they're done.

Is there a sequence to tightening them?

Is there a sequence to tightening them?

Yes there is. It's in the manual but you can't go too far wrong if you do it radially.
