Hello all,

I have a 99 VX that needs an engine replacement due to bad bearing. This is my 2nd VX. Last one needed a trans. That was easy. However this one needs and engine. Just wondering if I can use a later model Trooper motor in it? Trooper motors for some reason are easier to be had. I just did not know if they interchanged easily. Meaning no hugh modifications required. Your expertise would be of great value to me.

Thanks

yes, as far as i know anything with a 3.5 6VE1 can be put into the VX, this includes the newer (04) axiom motors, however anything with direct injection, you will need to re-use the original VX heads because our computers will not work with DI

do not get one from Rising sun engines, you will never see the motor after sending money

So what your saying is. I'd be ok using a 99 thru 2001 trooper motor without any changes?

Thanks
