I'm fairly sure that was just a stock hood insert with additional fang extensions a member here used to produce. You could probably replicate the same look purchasing a couple pieces of similar looking body side molding.

He is right, I did it years ago like others using body side moldings. Also a member here years ago made a mold and created a couple different sizes. Below are a couple pic's of a pair on my in early 05

I have a pair of those "hood fangs" that I bought on a whim - not gonna use 'em. Can't remember WHAT I paid for 'em - I'll sell 'em to you for $35.00 + shipping...

If KRemo passes on them, I'll take second dibs.

Better not pass Remo, that's a he11 of a deal if I'm remembering the original price correctly!

Sold to KRemo! I bought 'em from another Forum member a year or so ago out of NJ, who sold his VX. Honestly don't think I paid THAT much more for 'em...

I was thinking of the price Ron or Tone charged for them new, can't remember which one had them but I think it was Ron.
In any event, a nice cheap mod. Take pics when you put it on!

There's also our Japanese friend named Naoki, a close friend of a member here named Dutchie, who also makes these and other various custom VX parts. If you can translate his web site from Japanese, here are the urls:
Here's the home page: http://homepage3.nifty.com/vehi/
Here's the hood fang page: http://homepage3.nifty.com/vehi/shopping2/shopping2.htm
(also other custom parts such as skid plates, etc.)
From the home page, click on shopping, then on the Vehicross tabs on the next page to look at all the custom goodies!! Enjoy, I've ordered a couple C/F half-moon covers from him before and can verify he is trustworthy!

Wow those sites are awesome, Great find on someone who still makes all that stuff for us. But if that is Yen those prices are insanely high.

That means that the price for the front skid plate like Ron's would cost $550 plus shipping from Japan and it looks just primed so you would have to paint it. I think Ron's skid plate, painted, cost $350 plus shipping. I like the tail light covers but they cost $240 plus shipping.

Always great to see some "cross-pollination" between the homeland of the VX and its U.S. fans.
Would love to see more of it regardless of whether or not we can get accessories from them, maybe some embedded links on each forum. Seems they are also having regular meets. I love to see anyone's interpretation of the VX, whether or not I would do the mods or not. Especially like the overhead console.

I guess I'll wait till the dollar is stronger. $527 plus intl. shipping for a pair of unpainted side skids. I wonder how they could afford to have all those accessories made when they only have 1/4 the amount of vehicles produced? I guess there's some advantages being close to China. Maybe at some point, they will clearance them out. A full set of skids is 1/3 the bluebook of a VX. I can't see them moving that many at that price. We can always drool though. Curious, AK VX Lvr, what did shipping cost and how long did it take?

Maybe if the Yen loses value, we could get a group buy together.

Are you sure you're doing the dollar to yen conversion correctly??
Here's an older posting that shows it at $350 plus shipping?

I think shipping took a couple weeks when I ordered the half-moon covers and it was reasonably priced. I'm not trying to pitch these guys or anything, just thought I'd share a resource with fellow VXers!!

Seems like maybe a few of us could go in on a set of the side pieces so that John could start producing them as well...

I googled the dollar to yen conversion. When I saw the price, I checked my math and it was right.
