Thought I'd post a few pics here of the skid plates I just got from bantan, since many have never seen the rear skid particularly. These were made by "Ron" a few years back. Gonna get them painted a silver color. Note the rear already has a notch for the Tone style hitch.

Sue,
The hitch pin may be difficult to install/remove with those skids in place. Let us know how that works out.

You gonna send the rear to Rowhard so he can make a mold and begin selling them right?

It's already en route, he'll have it by Wed. Are you going to get one?

Is rowhard making the front plate as well? Does anyone know the pricing for the set?

I couldn't even get the skid on because of the lip around the receiver...I sure didn't want to twist/push/pull too hard and snap it, so left it as is, shipped it to John. Suspect I'll have to sand it down a bit to get over the lip.
There is a recess for the pin molded in, hopefully it will be enough.
BTW, are these fiberglass or anybody know what Ron made them from?
Here's detailed pic of the recessed area for the hitch/pin. Because it's black I've tweaked the contrast, color etc so details are visible. http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/DSC_5442.JPG

Rowhard's been making the front for a while now. I believe the rear mold wasn't usable, so he's only been doing the front.
Here's the contact info. It's listed in the "Accessories" section on main menu, left side, bottom. Check with him about pricing.

KAT,
I talked to Welder Guy about the lip. He didn't feel that it added any strength to the device. He basically included it since it's there on all of the aftermarket ones he's seen & decided to err on the side of caution. If you need to trim the collar (lip) to get the skid to fit, it won't hurt anything.
Of course the superbumper needs that lip there to function as intended.

There's a VX owner in Japan that sells some items. Several members just posted a thread on this topic this week: (see post #16)

Here's the Japanese site:
Click on SHOPPING button in top center section of screen
Scroll down a little, you'll see them.
BTW....44,000 Yen = $527 bucks! I think shipping is extra....

See attached of VXC website screenshot of the rear skidplates. Might help a little.
The Skids were made of 2 pieces of 1/4" Styrene sheets.

I really like the look of the spikes on the front skid! Is the piece Rowhard is making going to include spikes? Sure hope so! I'd grind them down to sharper points and flat black paint them!
