I have just jumped on board this blog thing. Just curious who here has a blog and post up the addy and a bit of info!
My blog will chronicle my life of training and racing and a bit on my VX and my offroading misadventures.

My new blog is triguywithavx (http://triguywithavx.wordpress.com)

I have two:

http://notajeep.blogspot.com/
This is my 'just for fun' blog. I haven't updated it much lately, mostly because I don't think anyone is watching so I kinda lost interest.

My personal blog is located at http://nfpgasmask.livejournal.com. Pretty much a chronicle of stuff we've done since we moved out west. Been going for over 4 years now. I only allow 'friends' to view it, so Billy if you are interested, sign up on LiveJournal and send me your account name, I'll add you. I post lots of pics on there and so naturally there are lots of car posts.

I have 10 blogs - each is about a different topic - I found it made sense not mixing my different interests into a single blog so they ended up spinning off into many. I try to post to one a week so some don't get much love.

Wow, John! You are a busy beaver online, aren't you??

Question, your sketchbook collection....how does that work? Are you just buying hardcover sketchbooks and then you have artists fill in the pages? Cool idea. Some great stuff you have there!

Man, I wish we had a Korean BBQ joint around here in Reno. I love me some good Kimchi. I ate it whenever I could while I was in Japan, there were a few spots that had it. Reno has the suckyest selection of restaurants.

I do two different things - I've got several hardcover sketchbooks that I take to shows - in the old days most artists would doodle in them for free - these days you have to pay them for the sketch. It helps that some of my books have very well known artists in them so a lot of artists want to be included.

The other thing I do is I take graphic novels to shows and get artists and authors to sign them - they frequently put in small sketches. I've got quite a few books like that and some are quite spectacular.

That's awesome, I have some original stuff too. Nothing like an original or signed comic. Very neat.

I know, I can't live without my Korean BBQ, there are two spots I love to go to both have their perks... We were actually talking about hitting a spot for dinner tonight! LoL... Do you not have any decent oriental grocery shops up there?

As a matter of fact, yes, we have two Asian supermarkets here, but imo, they are just OK. If you want packaged/canned/jarred stuff, they are decent, but for a good selection of fresh stuff, not so much.

That said, I did stop by one of the joints today, and this place is mainly Korean and they always have fresh Kimchi in the cooler there. It never looked that appealing but I decided to pick up a tub of it anyhow and test it out. Its decent, but I've had better.

Bart Bro, I feel sorry for you...:(

Even though we have a population of just over 100k between Fargo & Moorhead, we have at least one Korean BBQ joint, several Sushi places, 3 authentic Thai restaurants, a couple Japanese/Teppanyaki places, one extraordinary Vietnamese restaurant, & the usual profusion of Chinese buffets, two of which are very good.

I also know of at least three - four good Asian markets. (you can actually buy ox tail & chicken feet)

When I moved back here from HI in 93, friends on the Big Island were sending me care packages almost monthly...

Who knew Fargo was gonna turn into an Asian restaurant/market hot spot...:_confused

Yeah, Reno is limited when it comes to GOOD international cuisine. Being from Chicago, we had everything. Out here, lots of American food. Believe it or not, imo, we don't even have a good Italian restaurant, and that is PATHETIC.

We do have one REALLY good Chinese spot, and 2 very good Thai spots, 1 good Vietnamese/Chinese joint, and 2 or 3 sushi spots, 1 of which I really like. We do not, as far as I know, have a real Korean place. Supposedly, there is a sushi place that serves Korean here but I have heard it isn't very good.

If you want a good burger though, we got em. Pizza is a little tough too.

I think you have to start with the assumption that anyone actually cares how you feel about what you had for lunch today. If you can get past that (I can't either) then it's all kinds of wonderful!

Yeah, that's the thing. My own familiy barely looks at my LiveJournal, I maybe have 4 friends who look at it, so imo, Facebook/MySpace/Twitter is a collossal waste of time. I spend enough time on the PC. I'd rather post on VX.info. I mainly keep my LJ for myself anyhow...

Bingo!

I see it as my email replacer. Chances are, anybody on your FB friends list, is on your email list anyways. One quick way to slap some sort of useless update up and they can all see it at their leisure, or simply ignore it. Just like email, only faster, prettier, and actually a bit more fun. :bgwo:

It's funny, but we just had a meeting at work yesterday and somebody was going over a bunch of advertising stats. Turns out, companies (particularly game companies), get more friend requests/likes and hits to a FB page than they get email newsletter and website hits. Future of advertising right there!! The masses are deciding....
