FYI: After looking for quite awhile, Navistar and I ended up coming to an agreement for one of his two 2001 VX's. This conversation has gone on for quite sometime. (Yep, they are a complicated vehicle).

I've posted about vibration in the past -- and hope to continue/solve my own issue on the topic sometime in 2011. In the meantime, I have two other more immediate needs....

One is to replace one or more of the plastic roof-rack fillers. These are the fillers that sit in the roof rail when a rack is NOT installed. Got any leads on best location/price for these parts? I couldn't even find a single reference to what they're called while running a search on this forum!

Also, I posted a question about buying/installing new wheels in another forum. If you know details about wheel fitment, please look at my other thread here (http://www.vehicross.info/forums/showthread.php?t=19435).

Thanks!
Gregg

They're called "rail caps"....sometimes "roof rail caps". Search on either of them, you'll find many references.
For reference, they used to sell for over $200 -$300 for a set of 4, then a few in the $100+ range, then recently a few for $70-$75. Some have carefully modded them to fit WITH the roof rack towers in place. VT_Mav made an extra set which I bought.

This guy has some for sale, not sure if they're sold or not:

There's tons of threads with detailed wheel/tire fitment, backspacing etc, etc, etc, info.
The OEMs are +38

Shoot me a PM with the positions you need, I have several extra caps in the toolshed at home. Could also make you a set of those custom covers if you like - do you already have the cross bars?

Thanks! Just when I finally gave in because I thought it would be impossible to find another SUV I'd like as much as the VX styling, I saw this on the MSN homepage this morning!
