Call of duty - Black ops

I finally made my first Call of duty purchase. Not that I never wanted to before, but figured it would consume too much of my time, which it has so far. Oh well, it is great.

I have it for PS3, who else does?
How does it compare to the past versions?
Conrad_VX is my tag add me if you want.
I am a newbie. It's been a long time since time splitters on PS2.

I play as "triathletevx". Usually play domination but occasionally venture into other games. Ijust hit level 38 prestige 1. Next time I see you on I will shoot you an invite. If we get enough response maybe we can set up a private game.
As far as comparison they all play similarly just differant wars and weopons.

Love black ops. One of the best ones yet.

I didnt get into the call of duty games until World at war, but have since played Modern warfare and Black Ops. I am not sure about PS3, but 360 has 4 new maps coming out on Feb. 1.

Seems like there is a big advantage to achieve a higher rank to get the better guns.

My current is the Famas, which replaced the Enfield - due to level 16 ranking.

Thats funny that you say that, because I felt the exact opposite. The M16 with red dot and suppressor (warlord turned on) is one of the better guns and you get that early.

I have 2 "go to" classes set up.

Commando - Red dot - Supressor
Ghost Pro - Warlord Pro - Ninja Pro

and

Stoner63 - Red dot - Extended Mag
Ghost Pro - Warlord Pro - Ninja Pro

I am at level 50, but I am NOT going to prestige.

Some folks like the continual earning of levels. I prefer to get to the top and not re-earn all of my guns and stuff.

I use a lot of differant weapons depending on the map. Some I use just because they crack me up (x-bow).:bwgy:

I have, it's a Fight Club plot, sorry to give it away, but you figure that out pretty quickly. Doesn't make it any less fine, non stop action. Everyone buys it for the MP tho. I still find it surprising FPS sell so well on consoles, but I guess it's a lot cheaper to buy a $300 Xbox once, than a $300 video card every year. I just can't get the hang of using the controller for FPS.

I have owned the game since day one and have not play 1 second of the campaign. I LOVE multiplayer.

L1 = Left 1 which brings up your weapon sights.

I am about 1/2 way through the campaign. I am stuck at on spot (playing on vet.) but revisit it from time to time. I will get through it eventually. I like multiplayer better though.

On a side note...has anyone been following the controversy of the PS3 version of the game on the CODBO's forums. Apparently they designed the game for xbox, didn't want to spend the time/money to change it to fully utilize the PS3 system, so we got a dumbied down version that only uses half the PS potential!:mad:

ah....well in that case then, yes I do use L1 or Left Trigger in Xbox Speak. Always pull up the sites, things are steady. Better/quicker kill.

Last night I found a new game that is a ton of fun. "One in the chamber" in the wager games is a blast. 6 players, 3 lifes, 1 bullet (1911) and a knife. If you kill someone you get another bullet (if you used one to kill you get a replacement), if you miss all you have left is the knife, kill with the knife get one bullet!:yeso:

I got it for Christmas..but, I bought "Modern Warfare" for like $20 @ WalMart and want to play it through before playing "Black OPS". I have X-Box 360 versions.

I did bow to curiousity & put in "Black OPS" and played the early phases before returning to the older "Modern Warfare".

I can only do the single player campaign stuff though because I lack a proper internet capable set-up as I only have dial-up for my 'puter.

I still have "withdrawls" for "Mass Effect 2" even though I've played it entirely like 5 times. Can't wait for "ME 3".

I am having issues getting my bluetooth registered. It never picks up on the scan. It is a NON playstation one.

Jharris one problem might be that most bluetooth headsets pair with something. So if you have used the bluetooth with a phone or something before you will need to figure out how to unpair it before you can pair it with the PS3. I had this problem with my PS3 bluetooth headset it was paired with my brothers PS3 and I spent hours trying to get it to hook up to mine before I realized I had to unpair it from his first and after I did it connected to mine right away no problems.

Crude? Wouldn't know...I mute everyone since I get tired of listening to the whiney crybabies with internet courage take the game to seriously.

Haha yea they all kinda have a unique way of talking... which is crude alot of the time. I as well usually mute everyone I dont know.. but when im with my group of friends I always listen in because we actually strategize alot.

AH I bet that is the problem! It is a friends and I bet it is paired with his phone. Other than that issue all BT headsets should work right?

Yes, they are only 6 man games so as fast as I sent the invites it would fill. 1 in the chamber and the gun game are a blast to play...but, you don't build up points very fast.:yesy:

Ive got it, its pretty cool maybe not worth $15 if you dont play much. Nothing to like go running around screaming about or anything.
