Way to go Jack! I've been thinking about this, but just haven't pulled it together yet. It seems like we've picked up a bunch of new CO VX owners and it would be great to get together for a meet and greet.

thats exactly what i was thinking mark... ill try to get ahold of garza, now we just have to get some of the other new guys to commit.
ill try to reach out to the guy in monument and see if he would join us, i know he had some questions and issues and would probably really benefit from meeting some of the guys.

scott, you in if we go farther south this time? like castle rock or monument?

Mile High VX

I'll reach out to jemorga in Lakewood...

Pick a date and I'll do my best... Distance is not a big issue, just timing.

pbkid
01/30/2011, 11:06 AM
ok. sounds pretty good so far. Is there any weekend that works better or worse for you scott??
Pretty much any weekend works for me.

Does anyone else have a preference of timing??

Moncha
01/30/2011, 04:28 PM
I'm pretty open this month (Feb) so, since I'm in a minority down in Pew-town you all name it and I'll do my best to make it work.

pbkid
01/30/2011, 05:09 PM
no location set yet...

anyone have preferences?? im guessing that if jon or mark come down from the mountains were gonna have to stick to Denver area since they are already gonna be goin a long way..

MSHardeman
01/31/2011, 08:06 AM
Location doesn't matter to me, but yes, the closer in to Denver the better. Are we talking just a meet and greet or will there be wheeling involved?

I can't do it this weekend (Feb 5-6) or next weekend (Feb 12-13), but after that I'm good to go.

Where is everybody? We seemed to have picked up a lot of Colorado VXers recently so sign up and come out to meet the fam.

I will also have ___ guests. (You may have up to 10 guests.)

Yeah. As if you could fit 11 people into a VX... :)

probably not any wheeling... i may go screw around afterward if someone else is up for it, but not anything pre-planned... i dont wanna scare anyone off.

I'm fine with meeting somewhere south, even Colorado Springs is fine. What about a Buffalo Wild wings, like the one on North Academy? Or if we meet north, there is one by Park Meadows mall south of Denver.

Barring another massive snow storm I'll be there. Somebody send me a time and some directions.

WOOHOO, finally getting the CO VX family together.

Jon, we should coordinate so that I pick you up on my way through Vail and have a little two VX convoy.

hughesdt
02/10/2011, 08:31 AM
MSHardeman, you should let me know when you are going to be at I70 and Wadsworth or so, and I will also join the convoy.

Dan

MSHardeman
02/10/2011, 12:20 PM
Can do Dan. We'll have to coordinate it so we pick up people as we get closer and closer to our destination. It's really a treat to see multiple VX's rolling along one behind the other.

We can trade cel numbers, or I can put my CB back in if anyone else has their ears on.

event has been updated, now we can get a more accurate head count anyhow. that'd probably be good, ill try to make a reservation once we have an idea.

MSHardeman
02/16/2011, 08:15 AM
Jack, I would count all the people that replied with a "yes" as coming. I know Biju signed up to come, but I doubt that he'll check in that often so may miss the part about signing back up.

If you make reservations (do you really have to make reservations at Buffalo Wild Wings?) for the number of people that said yes before, and we end up with less then that'll be just fine.

pbkid
02/16/2011, 08:00 PM
true true.

is everyone set on BW's? or would anyone be open to rock bottom brewery? its right next door, and much better food/beer in my opinion. Just around the same price- $7-10 per meal. Plus my girlfriend works there, so she is also requesting the change so she can say hi to everyone.

Dan, Google Earth is telling me that it will take about 3 hours 20 minutes to get there from here. I'd like to get there a little early because I'm sure there will be some VX geeking out before lunch (after too). If I leave here around 9ish when will that put me in the Wadsworth area? I have your number now so I can call when I get to Idaho Springs. Will that give you enough time? Anybody else want to join the VX train?

Jack, it has been snowing a ton up here, but it's in the upper 30's so the roads are wet, but not bad at all. I haven't checked the weather yet to see what's going to happen in the next couple of days, but my biggest concern would be Vail Pass or the tunnels. I'll keep an eye on it.

Also, Jack, you don't have to use Whit as an excuse. If it's you that wants to see me then just say so. I'm looking forward to catching up with you. See? That wasn't so tough.

well, in all reality, you were the FIRST VX'er i ever met... at the co-zu meet in buena vista in 06, you had just bought your VX and were on your way home.

Cant wait to see the fam. should i make our reservation for 15? is that a safe number?

who else are we missing off the new list? i know Rallydude is one of them. Who else am i missing?

That will give me plenty of time if you call from Idaho Springs. I was looking at the Map, there is no reason for you to come all the way to Wadsworth, unless you have a reason. I70 and C470 would be better and we could take C470 to Park meadows rather then I25. Up to you let me know what you'd rather do.

Anyone else North of BWW?

Mark,
From Idaho Springs to BWW:
52.7 miles taking I70 to I25

44.3 miles to taking Hwy6 to I25

45.8 miles taking C470

Familiar with Colorado Mills Mall? Can meet around there, easy access to I 70, C470 and hwy6. If you leave around 9, 3 hrs to Colorado Mills puts you there around noon. I will be there earlier, plenty of places to spend time, grr and money there :) Do call from Idaho Springs and we will be waiting for you.

Just incase: Take I70 to Colfax past Indiana St then Colorado Mills is on the right side.

Dan, not familiar with the area, but I'll head to Colorado Mills and meet up with you there. I'll call as I'm passing through Idaho Springs so you can time it.

I've been PMing with Richard Payne and it doesn't sound like he's going to be able to make it. Again not being that familiar with the Denver area, would anyone be interested in heading over to his shop in Fort Collins? Is that a long way away from where we'll be?

We should come up with some kind of speed dating thing where the owner of each VX gets so many minutes to introduce themselves and describe the mods on their rig while the others walk around observing...but I think too much while driving, err, at least when I'm not watching DVDs through the ice storm and 100-mile fog bank (Casino and Clerks got me home safely) Thanks to everyone for their CO hospitality, Bren.

sounds good, i gotta get my front end put back together before moab... Gotta fab some new brackets to drop the diff, ball joint flip and buy some new cv shafts. I am having a really hard time finding them though. I can only find the right side, no one sells the left. Does anyone know if the left and right side cv's are the same size? I know the green cups are diferrent lengths but the actual cv shaft itself is what I am referring to.I dont have mine anymore or I would measure them myself lol. I really dislike this user name lol, I have had it since high school, wish there was a way to change it.

raver, the left and right CV shafts ARE the same length so you should be good to go. I can't remember if we share our CV shafts with another Zu so hopefully someone will chime in about that. I know EMPI makes replacement shafts that fit our VX and I can get those numbers to you if you would like.

As for your screen name; you can PM Moncha (our esteemed administrator) and he can change your screen name for you. Easy peasy.

Left and right shaft are the same IF you are replacing from the green cup out. If you are replacing the entire shaft, then they are different. If you do a search you will find a post I started on the empi shafts which has all the part numbers you will need.

If you need the inners, I ended up buying the 94' trooper empi left CV. The jack shaft (inner) is the exact same as the VX but the half shaft (outer) is 1" shorter. You then need to buy a later model trooper cv from empi to get the right haf shaft length. I was actually able used the shorter half shaft because it fit much better after doing a 2" diff drop. Either way I would get the same length halfshafts for both sides. Also, EMPI uses tripods on the inner (:grino:stronger) when you buy the complete CV rather than just the halfshaft.

...I know its confusing. If I ever have time, I want to write up a wiki with pics to help find the right CVs. You can pm me if you need help, I have all the part #s I used from EMPI.
