Taknin a page (sorta, this one's got more blood) out of the Egyptians play book!
I hear our fearless Leader Obama has placed sanctions on all of Ghadafi's holdings of US assets, and his family as well. I don't understand why he had any here in the first place.

Any leader that unleashes its military on his people is history. He is history now.

I hope so. Down side is gas is supposed jump up again. I don't follow who makes what oil in the middle east, but I never knew that Libya made enough to affect prices here.

Libya makes only 2% of the world's oil according to this article, but apparently its quality is what's significant:

On the other hand I've also read that Saudi Arabia could easily churn out the difference on very little notice. IMHO, probably just another excuse for oil companies and traders to turn a buck based purely on speculation and conjecture.

:yeso: You're definitely not alone there.
Given all the smoke and mirrors behind price setting in that industry, I think it would be more accurate if they were listed as "snake oil" prices.

Lybians have come a long way since I last remember them in their VW Bus chasing Marty McFly in his DeLorean over @ the mall parking lot!

I heard todAy, that for every 1cent jump in oil prices, 1.5 billion is lost in consumer discretionary spending. Gas prices here jumped 28 cents on Friday.
I will try and find the article that the stat came from.
I always believed when they were talking about the stimulus package, a good start to stimulation would have been getting the price of gas back around 2 bucks a gallon. This was back when prices were at 4 bucks a gallon or more.

Heh good one, I suppose it is a matter of scope and scale. But technically, the absolute of the quoted quote is still accurate: Neither Bush I nor Clinton are currently in power.

Guess I'm the only one bothered by the misspelling of Libyans. :p

I guess I'm the only one bothered by the lack of a subject constituent for the verb "to guess" in your starting clause. :p
