after some modification to make the detent work without a button on the shift knob i got it on.
it is about1/2 inch higher than the stock knob, but i am thinking of fiberglassing a new console that would be higher so it will be good for that

LOL; when I first saw the pictures, I automatically assumed it was L-Dub's rig. Then had to reaffirm who posted the thread, and was shocked it wasn't L-Dub.

The shifter looks way cool, but now you have to visit Fargo, ND for some midnight auto parts requisition to make the rest of your VX match. Better do it at night, as L-Dub don't like trespassers!!!

pretty cool! just be careful not to knock the vx into reverse while driving, or out of park while stopped!

you have to push the shifter knob down a good ways to shift out of park ect.it would be real hard to do it by accident

ohhh the shifter actually moves? i thought you eliminated the shift lock all together.. very cool then.

I did a shift knob without a button as well. the shifter depresses about 3/4-1" to release the shift lock instead

Is the 4wd shifter knob just a screw on? (the short one) I have a very old school clear plastic knob a friend made for me almost 40 years ago that's been in every truck I've owned since then. I'd really like to put it in my VX.

Only problem you might run up against is the fact that it's...metric...:yesgray:
