View Full Version : Nerf Bar Mounting Brackets

OK, so now that I am back in the VX game, I finally found some SS nerf bars for my Ebony, but unfortunately ToneMonday.com (RIP) no longer supplies the mounting brackets.
So, does anyone know where I could procure a set? Or would anyone be willing to snap some pics of their mounting brackets with a tape measure for dimensioning purposes? I have access to pretty much every manufacturing machine known to man, so I could fab my own and maybe some extra sets for anyone in the VX family that may want to mount some nerf bars.
Thanks in advance,
CP
P.S. I know nerf bars suck for off roading, but I live in the flatlands of Illinois, so really don't have to worry about that. :madb:

I just snapped pics of mine for tom4bren and PK. Unfortunately I didn't think to use a tape measure. I think "Welder Guy" was making them at one point - Tom can you confirm?
Here's my pics:

Nope. Welder Guy wasn't making them. I got mine from Tone but couldn't make them work because of my offset. I just mailed them to Jo to send to PK. Maybe he can get you some measurements when he gets them. I think I have some pix of the brackets. I'll try to dig them up.
I took my black nerf bars off because they rusted still have the brackets.
I dont remember what I paid for them, And I don't know if I'm going to get new ones.
So make a offer and I'll think about if I want Nerf bars again or just want to sell the brackets

I recently sold a set of these bars and the Tone brackets. I've got close up pics of just the brackets in my gallery.
They're 3 black metal pieces
One bracket was missing, that's why there's only 3 shown. I sold them to Luna-X, maybe contact him for dimensions if he hasn't mounted his yet.http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/DSCF2857.JPG

They're 3 black metal pieces sitting on a pink plastic tote lid, about 10 pages in.
Maybe it's time to consider making albums? Not easy for sure, when I organized mine I had to go back and edit all my posts with the new link. :(
Soooo worth it when I want to find something though.

Thanks everyone. I've PM'd Raz to see if we can work something out on the brackets. If I can get them, I'm going to try and use our Coordinate Measuring Machine to make a digital copy of the brackets, that way in the future, maybe myself or someone else can reproduce them for future VX owners.
I'll keep everyone posted!!!!

you have access to a CMM machine?!!!!!!! Oh man, the possibilities we've discussed around here! How 'bout the JDM light bar for one? Flaps for second....
I've had a few PM's about the brackets about shipping
them to someone and them back to me. But I don't have
a job right now and would rather just sell them. And the
nerf bars are still on them and I will have to cut them off.
Through the nerf bars not the brackets. I will try to get some
pictures after I get them apart and post up for sale.

Raz,
Are the mounting bolts so rusted that they need to be cut off? They are only held on with 1 large bolt per bracket.
Tom
Yea rusted to bolt inside of nerf bar going to cut off

Will those brackets and bar support more weight? Getting ideas for future projects...

Not really. They attach to body bolts rather than the frame, so when you put all your weight on them they sag pretty hard. Aside from the obvious strength difference between solid bars and tubes, it's this mounting method that makes nerf bars so much weaker than true rock sliders.
I suppose it depends on what you want to mount - maybe this is what you hand in mind?
