I think it looks good, but it would be nice to see a picture taken from the backseat so we can see more of it all in one shot.

But... I found a place that can do vapor deposition on plastic and am thinking about going with a real brushed aluminum or gunmetal look instead.

Pictures do not do it justice. I think it looks outstanding. It really improves the look of the interior.

I'd really like to see some more pics before I cast my vote - something that shows a more complete picture of the dash. My concern with carbon fiber is the busy-ness of the look. I can' t tell from your shots if it's too busy or not. I'd like to see more, because, as we all know, the dash is where the VX needs help the most! I'm thinking about the aluminum or silver approach mentioned above like the VX-04 (I think??) I saw a picture, and thought that looked pretty good. The important thing though is not whether I like it (I might - I just haven't seen enough of it) or anyone else here likes it - the important thing is that you like it - and it sounds like you do!

I am definately interested though, because I want to do something to my dash - I just don't know what yet. BTW - I saw some indiglo guages for a 94-95 Troooper on eBay that sure looked like they would work on our cars - $28! Of course there's no TOD guage - anybody know if they're the same?

It looks OK, but I would rather go with “brushed aluminum” dash trim (will makes your dash looks “sporty”), or, if you like “classy” style, then "English Burlwood" trim is the way to go.

You know, I'm normally not confrontational - but COME ON English Burlwood????!???!?! This isn't a Jaguar! Wait - English Burlwood - did you really say that? I don't want to be ANYWHERE near anyone who would do that to a VX!!! The VX isn't a "proper" car, it's controversial, cutting edge, and in your face - we don't need no stinkin' burlwood!!!

errr...if he wants to do the burwood then he can do it. it's all in the eye of the owner. if he likes the look of it, then werd go for it. doesnt matter what anyone else says.

anyways if you gonna do teh brush aluminum...i suggest you not do it 'cause the color fades away after a while and turns sorta greenish. yep...that's what happened on my boy's celica. looks like crap now

hchen - did he have real aluminum? I've never heard of aluminum turning green, copper rusts green but aluminum rusts white.

As for burlwood, I had the same initial reaction as raquethomas did. But then I started thinking about it. If you went all out, and basically replaced all of the faux carbon fiber with the burlwood, and did the center console and had the grey/black rather than the red/black interior, it might actually look kinda classy. But only going halfway would look totally weird, carbon-fiber, even the fake looking stuff like we got on the doors, just does not go with wood of any kind.

I think it looks outstanding. I would like to see a pic of the CF piece next to the trim on the door so I can see the difference. I most likely will do this as well as the hood insert. Thanks for being the pioneer.
