How hard/expensive is it to add AC to a car that comes without it?
Thanks.

With proper fabrication skills you can add A/C to any car...

But, seriously, it depends on the car. If there are enough copies that were available with it, then you should be able to source most of the parts from a junk yard. But, the expense would probably be more than locating an equivalent car that already has A/C, even if it's not functional. The electrical wiring/switches, plumbing, etc. is hard to retrofit. There are companies that do it for classic cars, but not so much for newer models.

What ya think? Too hard? Its got a heater system with defrost I believe. Just not cooling.

I live in Texas, so gotta have AC. I dislike heat and it dislikes me :)

There are aftermarket kits for some cars, mostly older cars.

I looked and didn't see anything for this car though. Although, I was just thinking, since the Suzuki X-90 is about the same as a sidekick might that make finding an AC kit easier? I will google tomorrow after some rest, I have been online all day and usually am not. :)

Simple; just roll down your windows!!!

A.C. = Air Conditioning...........err...Conditioning the Air. By rolling down your windows, you are thereby "conditioning the air" (aka A.C.). Some people call it 2/40 A.C., which means 2 windows down at 40 M.P.H.

Another option would be to install an Electric Moon-Roof. For more information on Electric Moon-Roof's in a VX; see www.WildToys.com and click-on the Proton VX icon.

Some X-90's came with factory A.C.; just hold out and find an X-90 that already has it installed.

I can do without AC till May 2012 at the latest, and that one has had a lot of new stuff put on lately and won an award in a car show last year. I may get it for way less than what it is listed for. So I am still considering it. Oh and we may have an AC man in the BF's dad's military vehicle club who do it for less than a lot of folks would. Might all work out. Hope so.

I was just wondering... What, if any, AC parts on my VX might be compatible to use in a conversion?

I doubt if any AC parts on the VX are compatible.
