What kind of oil goes in the differential of our trucks?

Tho the link above (by LDub) only shows the lighter, standard weight oil, I noticed the 2001 owner's manual lists 85W-140 as an alternative for warm climates.
If it never/rarely gets below freezing, feel free to go with the heavier stuff. Joe Isuzu (dealership) told me not to run the heavier stuff but you can't argue with the manual (engineers).

Reduce oil consumption from the rear differential? I never heard of that problem before. Maybe you think they're talking about engine oil? It says rear diff right in the thread title. ;)
