View Full Version : I need a name for my VX. Help?

Breezy

I gotta name it. I just don't know what. I saw someone's plates that read "BMBLE V." I love that! But it's taken. Yellow Jacket is long and doesn't fit. Proton is just to simple. I don't like Proty or Proto. Anyone have any suggestions for a sweet proton name? I go to school in the UP of Michigan so the VX will spend tons of time in the snow...I'm just not super creative when it comes to this stuff. But I can't just keep referring to it as "my car" or "the vx" or "that bug-eyed yellow thing you saw when you pulled into parking lot" .....

Suggestions anyone????????? :)

is seven letters and or numbers the norm on all US plates?

My state allows up 8 characters.

Other States may have different rules.

I am not asking for a "plate" name lol. Just something to call her. Btw I got my Zeon LTZ 285/60/18s on today! This thing looks like a tonka! But I think someone took that name already too :/

I'm just weird like this, but I am liking "Orion" because Proton makes me think star and thus Orion.
Plus I love the instrumental, Orion, by Metallica. Would make a great musical backdrop for off-road VX trail riding.

...bring it to the Stoop in May.

Of an evening, after a medicinal libation or two..
.....you'll get a name for it right quick!!

That's how mine got hers!!

Nice one Jo. Guess I'm not so weird.

Well then, All I have left is weirderness. Is there even such a word? Probably when describing me, lol.

http://www.behindthename.com/name/aurelius

I dunno though if Aurelius is manly or cool by today's judgement.
But I am sure it was then.
That actually was my first idea, but I shoved it aside trying to find something more in line with today's standards.

And to clarify why Proton makes me think star, might be obvious though, Proton - neutron - star.

Well..

Whats a stoop?

...its a place in Moab of ill repute that by its shear magnificence, stunning decor, post modern architecture and free ice....
... draws VX and other assorted Isuzu owners from all points of the compass during the month of May, somewhere between the 12th and 20th.

Medicinal alcohol is known to be served, stories are told..wrenches are ....wrenched!

All of this nocturnal activity is justified by beating our vehicles up on the trails on a daily basis.

While we are on the subject of naming a vehicle, I hope you don't mind, Breezy, if i ask how you all decide whether your vehicle is a him or a her?
Mine was an "it" or "the truck" till after my wreck when I named it "Humpty". Now I think its a him.

An EE from TN ... it's expected.

WooHoo, UTK class of '83 (BSEE).

Kinda dated but how 'bout MULTIVIBRATOR (of the 555 variety - it's a EE thang, most of you won't understand). That was the name of our softball team in college.

CrossCheck. That's what I'm going with I think.

It's a VehiCROSS. And Christ died on the CROSS for my sins. And a crosscheck is a pretty aggressive move (hockey, other sports...). And it will serve as a reminder to me to check if I am carrying my CROSS as I should be daily.

Luke 9:23
"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

I am happy with this...CROSSCHECK :)

Short answer...YES!

I have used Amsoil and Mobil 1 in my vehicles and have good results with both. I like the Mobil 1 simply because I can pick it up when I need it and don't need to worry about ordering it online. Most have their preference and their reasons why, but a good synthetic will be your friend. I have synthetic in my VX in the crankcase, the transmission, and the front and rear diff.
