My antenna gasket is falling apart and I have been looking for a fix/replacement.

Turns out, a fix might be real quick/easy.

I have read plenty about a product called Sugru on LifeHacker.com, but after a buddy of mine at work was raving about it, I looked more closely at the Sugru website.

Check out these examples of uses.....(they come in plenty of colors. I got black)

The picture below is from the site, not mine. I am going to use black.

After I install, I will take pictures and provide a review.

Looking forward to the review. My antenna gasket is starting to crumble away.

I will see how many "packs" it takes to complete the job. If its only one, I can probably stick one in an envelope and mail it for $3.

The shelf life of this product is 6 months

I just fixed mine with some black silicone. I was able to silicone what was left of the gasket in place and filled the rest with the black goo. :)

I "installed" some Sugru over the weekend.

The process couldnt be easier.

Its like playdough for about 30 minutes. Then you have to leave it alone to cure for roughly 24 hours.

I used 2 packs and worked it into a good shape then took some soapy water to give a smoother finish (vs. have finger prints everywhere)

I am over all pretty impressed with the product. It was a heck of alot cheaper than a new antenna and even easier to install.

Its a little closer to a faded black, than a black when its all done. It almost matches the rest of the lightly faded roof rails.

The sugru is heat and cold and UV resistant.

Here are some pictures.....
