All torn down like that, I would have thought you were putting the turbo intercooler. :p
Sounds like fun Cyrk. Hope it all works out! Let me know how the S/C treats ya. I want one bad, but with 8 t\years left on a factory warranty, I can't take the leap. ;)
Progress... Painting the Supercharger a nice bright red!

Almost done, she was getting the full treatment, nice glossy red paint, polished cone, fuel rails etc...
Should have her back tomorrow or Wed.
Also just ordered the upgraded 5 psi pulley for it.
Gonna drive it with the 4 psi pulley for a week or so then switch it out so I can notice the difference.
Tone say the new pulley is good for 10 to 15 more HP.

Well, it's about time you got those brake parts installed! We want a full report on the function of the slotted rotors.
Remember to always check for the fuzz, before flooring it off the light ;)

may I suggest upgrading to an Optima Red Top Battery!....LOL.
I would think that one of the Hot Shot Intakes would look great too...I know that you can't get them anymore but I'm sure one could be had for the right price!
Perhaps some red air horns too!
Looks great...keep up the good work.

The Hot Shot Intake will no longer work with the Supercharger (intake is relocated to the rear, extending to the front). Hey Dave... one word: SWEET!
I may have to order that 5 lb pulley myself!

SWEET :naughty:
Yea about the brakes, as some might remember N1 got me Stainless lines and pads form overseas... got the rotors from Powerslot over here...
Pads fits great, Front lines great, Back lines were a no go as I think that the Jap spec might have drum rears? also was missing the feeder hose from the frame to the rear axle.
So placed a order to Darlington Performance for my Rear Stainless Steel Braided Brake lines!
Can't wait to see the improvement in stopping (I hope).
Also I have the HotShot intake I might try to hack it up to fit the S/C we will see.
Does any one else have the 5 psi pulley besides Tone?
If so nice difference in the butt dyno?
Will have some updated pics tonight, Should be getting her after work!!
John we need to race to see what the S/C is compared to a some what stock VX.

Hey Dave,
For sure! I want to see what happens before and after my own SC and brake install. You may have an issue with the ABS with those steel breaklines. I've heard that they overpower the ABS because they don't have the line flex that is anticipated by the component.

Man, I remember bringing up a 5psi pulley before, and people chimed in stating it would void the warranty and what not (before I understood that mine did NOT come with a warranty in the first place).
Anyway, anything else need to be upgraded for the smaller pulley? How much is it going for?
Got it from Tone... 95 bucks
Have not got it in my hands should have it tomorrow.
From Tone:
Install is not bad with the right tool to pull it off the shaft and then push the new on one.

Lookin' good Cyrk. Hope she treats ya well.
If ya dont mind me asking, is your Isuzu/dealer factory warranty up now? Wondering how you came to the decision to jump in on the S/C install. I sure wish my warranty was not a concern, otherwise I would have one. :(
My warranty is not up but I know the manager at the local Isuzu shop and pretty confident that is something where to happen he would hook me up.
Also the lad installing the S/C is an amazing mechanic and he is better than a warranty.

Will going up to the 5psi pulley harm any components? I guess there wouldn't but much more strain than the 4psi pulley... what about the torque converter? I thought it was pretty much maxed with the 4psi pulley?
?? Tone want to chime in?

Cyrk, man your VX is going to be something when finished - I can't wait to hear your reviews after all these mods are done at once. It might be like getting a new car! Hey, what about those wheels? I want yours if you buy the ones off eBay!!
Thanks, it is going to be like a whole new VX!!
I have 18x8 Chrome Borbet CW3.
The ones off ebay sold, just going to keep mine till I see something I REALLY Like more than the Borbets.

Oh, I thought you bought the ones that were on eBay - WHENEVER you decide to replace your wheels - I WANT DIBS - I'm calling it now......that means if 2 months from now you decide to sell those rims - I have already called them - it's not the person that responds once you decide to sell them - IT's ME!!!!!:razg2: :razo2: :cool!:

Looking at the holes you cut in the cover under the CD player, how did you make enough space to slide in the gauges? I just installed an AutoMeter Pro-Comp Ultralite, Boost and Volt meter in the cover. I had to trim the mounting bolts and insulate the voltmeter posts. I cut off the blue plastic release fingers at the top and carefully pushed each wire aside. With all that, I still cannot push the gauge body full in. Any advice?
The booster meter is electric and re-zeros at each startup. When you turn the key the guage zeros, then when you roll the starter, the circuit is cut until the engine starts. This rushes the second zero and the gauge is inaccurate. I added a diode and a capacitor to keep the gauge powered during the interruption. This isn't working either. A relay with cap is next. I was always looking for 12v, switched 12v, and ground, so I added a short connection strip for each flavor and this also hides in the cover. Lastly, my backup camera and LED switch round out the space available. I will post some pix.
Roy
mine are not full body in either... my bud is going to fiberglass something so they will be flush... until then I just painted the backs black to match better.
Will post pics when she is done.

The ones in the hole between the license plate are Catz XLD fog lights and the new parking lights are from Autozone 55w driving light got from Dyanni.
