No offense, but there's no way for a person reading what you wrote to even know whether you're speaking literally or figuratively.

Are you referring to climactic events, societal/governmental upheavals, or ???

Do you have access to some sort of government top secret information that's being purposefully withheld from the general public? Personal knowledge currently known only to yourself acquired through personal research? A time machine?

And I'm being serious too, but you have to admit that it's somewhat difficult to prepare for something when you don't know what you're preparing for.

Just trying to be as helpful as you are apparently trying to be, but all I can say is, short of supplying information that can actually be put to use by those you are trying to help, all I can suggest is that you prepare for possible replies of the Chicken-Little variety.

It would be easy to take a look at the headlines today and say some world war is brewing between us and Iran/Russia/China, or maybe say that the Mayans are "right" when they said "the world was going to end in 2012". I may sound crazy, insane, or may be right. Now if i where to be right, would that still put me in the insane category. I know that some of you know there is a lot going out there in the world today, that doesn't take a brain surgeon to come to that conclusion. Global crises are at point where the world is now in a stand off. But to just sit around and say whatever is completely ignorant in my opinion. As some of you know, Im not a born US citizen, but I served in the US military and when i heard about the NDAA and the threat it will bring to what i help protect, our "Bill of Rights" thats when i said enough is enough. So please inform ur selfs of the coming threats and storm. If the NDAA has not made u think twice yet, then the closing of the Strait of Hormuz will. If its closed, I hope u've enjoyed paying $3 something per gallon of gas, cuz $3 a gallon of gas would be wishful thinking if Iran closes the strait. ( The Strait of Hormuz holds or may i say contributes to 40% of the worlds oil/gas supply.)

TY, im not saying to pack up n head for the hills, or stock up on 10 tanks a thousand land minds. Though thats not a bad idea, J/K. But trying to at least do something is again something. I'm by no means saying freak out and worry, you can still be sane and continue enjoying life knowing that crap can hit the fan any minute. For example, in my case Im still going to college, happily married, enjoying my life with friends and family, but at the same time preparing my self and making sure if something did happened, i know I have safety and comfort to give to my family, those i care for, and my self.

This is the world right now in a nut shell in my own opinion....picture a cruise ship, every1 is in a huge party, some sleeping, some drunk, and many others ignorant of reality. The bridge of the ship has no one on the helm and the captain and his crew took off on a helicopter, knowing that the ship is min's away from smashing into an underwater island. Those that don't smack them selfs to see, will be caught by surprise and those who know will ether hold on tight, or are already waiting on the rescue boats. Thats the whole world Today. Now who are you, REALLY?

I know most people are careless of whats around them, and the only way those people come to understanding or wake up is when something interrupts their nice naive lives. Then thats when they say crap, what can I do now? Ask all those unemployed parents/people that didn't see the economy fall in time to do something before it was to late. If you are involved at world issues, u could of seen the 2008 problem, it was not something out of the blue, just simply people asleep at the reality around them. We are all given warnings, and signs of things to come for a reason. They are to prepare us of things that may or may not effect us in the future. THe truth is that, no matter how many times people go through things, experience unexpected problems, people tend to ignore the past and continue to walk on the plank as if there is no sharks underneath. Yes, the plank may be sturdy, but if u don't look at the past every once in a while to learn, u may find ur self past to a point of no return, and some1 is behind u with a jigsaw cutting the plank with out u knowing.

I made this topic to make u all think. If u read what i wrote, then at least u saw it, and if u did something about it, then thats great. What ever u do, is up to u. I'm not here to force a made up idea, but informing u guys of real genuine issues that are backed up by evidence. Enjoying ur life and having fun while at it is one thing, but being a scoffer or completely ignorant is something else.

Agreed. It's always easy to view certain things as harbingers of doom because they sometimes have the appearance of chaos. I happen to think that things are generally more connected than they may appear on the surface though, and aren't always as totally unrelated as some would have you believe.

Take for example the current trouble in the Strait of Hormuz. Does is not seem even a little coincidental that this would be happening and the potential "threat" of higher foreign oil/gas prices would start to be thrown around at the same time that support is trying to be gathered for that Canadian/U.S. pipeline project? An easy way to determine the reality of that possibility would be to look where the powers that be in Washington and Wall Street are currently placing their bets in the stock market.

If a person looks at the list Coastie provided, it seems fairly straightforward how many of the items on that list have money as the root cause of the issues...so yeah...S.N.A.F.U.

Well there is an answer, but the answer that I have is one that many ignore or refuse to believe in. Like i mentioned, I'm a Christian that believes in the Bible 100%, so the answer that I believe to be the only way out of all this craziness is God. I believe that if any1, u and I get right with God, then all will be ok. I didn't want to get to this point, for i guessed u guys would come to that conclusion eventually, or even if you don't believe, you can see for ur selfs that the world is going threw great pain right now. Like I said before, I'm not scared, I'm actually the opposite, cuz I know where I stand in my personal walk with God. I didn't want this discussion to go into a religious debate or conversation, for I know many people can't stand that topic and would do anything to avoid it, or ridicule Christianity. SO leaving that aside, now that u guys know my comfort in all this, I simply wanted to inform u guys of things going on, thats it. Again, what u do with this information is up to u all. Theological extremism is at its worst when it compels followers to convert the non-believers at the cost of either - or both - of their lives. But the majority, albeit a shrinking one, of civilized people recognize this and do not try to sell their beliefs to others at the end of a sword, scimitar, gun, IED, etc. Guilt still works pretty good though. :)

All the caring, all the goodwill, all the selfless and charitable giving to change the lives of countless hundreds of millions of lives? All the donations of all the food and all the shelter both here and throughout the world. All the missionaries, all the educators, all the civil engineers giving of themselves to improve others' lot in this life. All the art, all the music, all the architecture, all the BEAUTY that has come from believing that we're not the final word in this existence.

It saddens me that people are so quick to disregard all the silent good for the sake of the bad done in its name.

Religion is just a vehicle that evil people exploit to motivate others to do what they want. It is not in and of itself the problem. The problem is (1) the bad people and (2) the fools that blindly believe anything that their leader/priest/pastor/rabbi/imam tells them to do. That vehicle just needs to be something that a large number of people share in common and are motivated by. For example, Hitler convinced Germans that their common economic problems could be blamed on a small minority of the population and that they deserved to take what they wanted from the rest of the world. If religion didn't exist other motivations would just be substituted.

Jo - I see what you were trying to do...But I see faults.

Coastie says "Rally VX" not Rock Climbing VX which would line up with your "beat it up..over rocks and ledges" comment. I think it is obvious he isn't one that took the rock climbing route, but has his own individual look in mind. And he also has a few pictures on here of a little bit of dirt play. Play those factors alongside the fact that until recently he has not been too active on here and you would have to think maybe his VX life isn't portrayed on here as much as others, and there may just be more "off-road" evidence outside of this site.

But seriously insult his rig and him personally - that is way out of line in this VX family, from what I have seen over the years. That should not be accepted. If what he says offends you then state your case, not take it personal. I have noticed more than once all he has ever said to you was how he looks up to you with your mods and what do you do? The opposite and insult and call them/him strange.

But I am pretty sure all of this should be common sense to you and you are now well aware after his comment, where he had full ability to backlash at you, that he is the better man for keeping his cool.

Hey Coastie, just don't let things worry you too much. I read everything you posted so I know you're not moving to hide out in a cave in the remote mountains, but...

The world has always been screwed up and it will always be screwed up. Yep, it's a good idea to educate yourself on "what's going on" - I do that myself. But, please don't it worry about it too much. I've lived my entire life hearing that Doomsday is right around the corner and so did the generations before me. Maybe it's right around the corner, maybe it isn't. I've learned it's best to not let it stress you out and affect your health and happiness. No matter what, worrying about "what might happen" will not change what might happen. Roll with the punches and live life to the fullest.

I don't think religion is bad, but it becomes bad (EVIL :evil:) when people are not open to other faiths, ideas, facts, etc. When people believe their religion is better, or the "one" true path... things get ugly. The only difference today, is that we have access to a world of information that never before in history have we been able to take in. The Kardashians are a JOKE, but you know what, so is EVERYTHING ELSE.

There is a huge part of me, most of me in fact, that thinks that everything is happening EXACTLY the way it is supposed to. Ever see a man on a horse? Its kinda funny, but I think it was meant to be that way. I DO NOT believe in the Bible. I DO NOT believe in the media. I only believe what I see with my own eyes.

I do however agree, that humanity is like an avalanche. We are multiplying faster every year. We WILL run out of resources and solutions and we will take down as much life as possible in the process. It is simply the way things are. I accepted this a long time ago, when I was a kid in fact. The "NF" in my online moniker stands for "No Future". I've used that since I was about 13 years old. So trust me, I understand how you feel. It makes me laugh that there are so many people going through the thoughts that I had when I was a kid. For me now, its just like Billy said, "I will go on enjoying the day".

Funny thing is, my grandpa once told me before he died, "Bart, everything went to hell in the 80s." I just looked at him funny and wondered why he felt that way. I loved the 80s. Greatest decade ever, probably because I grew up then (and the best music came outta the 80s :rotate: ), but what I am saying is that 100 years ago, people were saying the same thing! Ohhhh the world is going to hell in a handbag!!! The news is no different today, its just proliferated and dispersed at a MUCH more rapid rate.

I've written about the subject of humanity and the "end of the world" in the past quite a bit. It is a subject that has interested me as long as I can remember. Everything has a beginning and an end. Humanity will end, just like the dinos. What I don't understand is why everyone gets all crazy over it. Why not embrace it? I pretty much think it would be awesome to be here at the "end". That would be a pretty amazing thing, albeit horrible, it would be something to experience, don'tcha think?

Maybe I am crazy, but all this talk about Doomsday and the end of the world and the Apocalypse is all old news to me. I've thought about this since I was a kid, and my parents thought I was nuts, and most of my peers thought I was crazy. Now its coffee talk. Now I'm not so crazy, I'm just another doomer.
