This has to be a world record. I just put 22.182 gallons in my gas tank!!!

What's not a world record is my mpg. I only got 319 miles out of that tank. That's only an avgerage of 14.38 mpg. I guess thaks o.k. because I do mostly city driving.

Can anyone in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD beat that record?

Yes, see the MPG thread. I've put 22.387 in mine (more than once around that area!).

I think I may still have the receipt somewhere.

I haven't tried parking on the pump island to get it angled right :)

I've got it figured out. If I can drive the same and get 326 mile on the gauge, I will hold the RECORD!!!! or be stranded somewhere in BFE;)

The rules committy cannot accept the claim of 23 gallons in the tank by Joe_Black. A bystander stated that over a gallon of that was seen spilling out as claiment was leaving the station.;eekb; That would leave Joe_Black with a mere 22 gallons. Sorry Joe:(

Well, it's official. Today I have taken possesion of your old "How Much Gas Can I Put In My Gas Tank" record.

I just put 22.737 gallons in my gas tank. :o I had 329 miles on the odometer. That only averages 14.47 mpg. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything.

Where was the needle before you filled up? How far to the left?

It seems like every VX's fuel gauge is set just a bit different. With mine, I know I have about 25 miles left in the tank when I see the fuel light come on. On this last fill up, the needle was just a hair to the left of empty.

Hmm... I don't know if I could swing 22.7 in my tank, that'd be running the tank bone dry and coasting into the station!

You might have the title of king for awhile. :)

I know that when my needle is completely to the left of the empty notch, I need to find a gas station right quick... but as long as the needle touches the empty notch, I still got some milage left. ;Db;
