Do these ride pretty nice? I am still running OEM KYBs at 112,000. I think my shocks are really ok but I have been thinking of upgrading.

Then I guess I will stick with my KYBs!! So, are KYBs not available for the VX anymore or are they just uber-spensive? I know when I was looking for KYBs for my Impulse I had trouble, but I managed to scrounge a nice set of four NOS for pretty cheap.

The OEM KYB's are something kinda special in the shock world, they're the first remote reservoir shocks EVER to come standard on any vehicle.
Being a long time MX rider/fanatic, I have great appreciation for the technology involved in the original stiffness of the stock VX.

Suffice to say, the stock VX cornered HARD, some have said in the past, that it cornered comparably with sports cars that were only 2/3'rds it's weight, which is pretty respectable for a 4k# suv...:yesgray:

That's not only due to stiff dampers, it also has a lot to do with pretty substantial sway bars.

Thas my opinion, & I've got an extra set I'm gonna have rebuilt some day.:_wrench:

Oh...BTW...if they're still available, they're 0ver $400.buckz a pop from Isuzu...:(

I agree with Dub. I had to replace mine with at 133k as the ride was real stiff so I pulled them off and 2 had nothing left (no charge) so put the 9000XL for stock application. 400 x 4 is way too much to replace. There are threads about some members having them rebuilt.......I kept mine just in case......

If you still have oems at 100k, switching to ranchos set at 7-9 will feel like heaven to you. Even if you dont realize it your factory shocks are much softer than they used to be. im on my second set of ranchos (lifetime warranty replaced them recently) but still have my oems with hopes of rebuilding, because as was said. They are the shizz
