Finally got around to it getting the aluminum treadplate sills made and powder-coated same time I was getting the tail light guards made.
I had nicked the sill so much the light gray cladding was showing in the scuffs. So I touched up the entire sill with ShowRoom New dye.
I had them center it along the sill
Used the existing screws and cladding screws.
It's .032" thick aluminum.
The Powder-coat is a dark charcoal/blackish color with loss gloss and is an extra durable type. I picked this color to go with both the almost matte cladding, and the higher gloss black sliders
I had them wrap it down around the lowest part of the cladding even though it shows because that edge gets beat to crap by my left foot in/out. It's not fitting completely flush against the cladding there. I may have them bend it a bit more to snug up against the cladding, or just leave it. There's plenty of room for drainage too.
The RockyRoad Super sliders completely protect that lower part, so very unlikely anything will snag on the front edge of the treadplate even though it's down low....
I can still have that part chopped off if I want, but not sure how they'd finish that edge....cuz the flat/top part still needs protection.
I know they look a bit dumb, but "I'm special" :goof: and they serve my needs. (Had to put them on Dave's RZR too)
RESULTS:
Priceless....:goof:...OK you knew that was commin'...:laugho:
