Why was mounting 10.50? The website says free???

I never heard of Nexen Tires before. They're made in South Korea. I'm sick of paying $650 for tires that last me 1-1.5 years. I was searching for a cheaper tire this time. I wasn't finding much, then I went to Walmart.com and found a nice Nexen tire for $113 in the stock 16" size. $101.70 with my associate discount. Free shipping site-to-store. I wasn't gonna find anything better than that. :yesy:

I searched for tire reviews and didn't find anything negative about the Nexen Roadian HT, so I order 'em and they were at my local store the very next day. They are not sold in stores. They won't ship to your house, but you can take 'em to anyone for mounting. I had Walmart do it for $10.50 per tire.

There was one problem though. They pulled my VX in the shop and then told me they couldn't mount my tires. They had no torque spec listed for VX lug nuts. Everything has to done very specific for legal liability reasons. I'm po'd and go get my VX to load the tires to take somewhere else. Then I check my owners manual and find the lug spec and go back in and show them that it's 87 lbs. in the manual. They're slightly reluctant, but ask a manager and get the OK.

I'm very happy with these tires. They're smooth and quiet. My VX steers nice and goes in the direction I want it to. I think they're made extra round or something. :)

If ya ever get tires at Walmart, check ahead about the lug nut torque for a VX.

That's pretty cool to get cheap tires with free shipping to the store and then pick 'em up yourself anyway. :_confused

Great thanks. I think we'll go this route for my wife's '99. She runs studded Nokian Hakapolitas all winter, and it's time to change.

With some careful scraping you could change the "NEXEN" lettering in to "V X" :D

And with the called Roadians, you need a "Han Shot First" sticker somewhere...
