Mark, you are "Da Man"! Eleven years of everyday driving in salt and deerhide and it still looks like that, that should give every one of us here the incentive to do the same. Rust-prone, engine-blowin' conversation pieces? ...I don't think so!! :_steering :_beer:

Quarter million w/o repairing the seats? Really? NFW!!!

Looks perfect on the top. Flip it over like a turtle (so we can see it's belly) for the real truth!!! :bwgy:

Seriously, that's freakin' perfect!

Unreal! Nice job!

Suddenly my 140k is starting to feel more like I'm just getting her broken in :D

Here's to another 100k for everyone!

reminds me of an old episode of married with children where Al is about to hit 1 million miles on his old dodge and they are going to tape it and give him a brand new viper - of course he never gets it but maybe someone should write isuzu a letter on behalf of deermagnet

I agree with everyone on this post that even with 270K miles, Mr. Deermagnet has managed to maintain his VX in near-pristine condition.

One question though. With less than half Deermagnet's miles, my VX drinks oil like crazy. Probably, I am going through at least a quart every thousand miles. Makes me wonder how a VX with more than twice my miles measures up against the same metric.

So, how much oil does your VX drink Mr. Deermagnet?

Guess if you don't mind checking your oil every single day then the issue is a non-issue. For lazy people like me though...? Kind of a pain. But I love my 130K mile VX so I guess I'm going to have to monitor the oil eater one way or the other. :)

Every day is a bit much, but every fill-up isn't that annoying. I think someone around here made the observation that probably very few engine failures are caused by sudden, catastrophic oil loss. Most are probably owners that just assumed they didn't need to check the oil but once every 1-2K miles.

It is annoying but worth it to own one of the most unique vehicles on the road.

What product(s) do you use to keep your plastic cladding shiny and clean? How often do you use it? I use 2 kinds. One lasts up to 2 weeks and the other up to 2 months. One is spray-on and the other is like wiping it down with a honey-like gel. I hate doing either one. It's a chore.

I'd be very interested to see a pic of your undercarriage.

Zero oil use between 3K oil changes for me. Only 85k clicked off. Estimate 6k miles per year, I'll also hit 300k in the spring of 2048. Check back if you want to see my post! :bwgy::smilewink:bgwo::bgwb:

Seriously, it would be pretty darn easy to restore that to near-showroom new lookin'! :cool!:

And we always hear about these things being prone to rust-out...:_confused

wow, that looks pretty darn good. in my case, i have a driver side rocker that is in real bad shape. gonna order a new one from merlin soon and have a shop spray it with something before installing it so i don't have the same problem in 5 years or so.

Not to instill any worry Brandon, but I'd be a little concerned about what's lurking under the cladding with one rocker already rusted out...not that there's much you can do about it now.

My tech said everything else looks very good. He said frame is in nice shape.

He said because of the plastic, water gets stuck and rots the rockers on cars like isuzu and subarus.
