While searching the Internet for a new front bumper (reinforcement) I came across this. While I was in Amazon.com, the search engine pointed to Honda part # 8-97125-781-0 front bumper reinforcement. I did some more searching and found on Bizrate.com a cross reference to Isuzu part # 8971435345 VehiCross front bumper reinforcement. The best part that I found is they are asking like $84 with free shipping. Does this sound at all plausable? If so, I am going to order one today.
But I wanted to check just in case this was something like the bumper that was cheap but didn't even look like the VehiCross bumper. This bumper is for a Honda Passport.

This might explain the cost of this bumper reinforcement:

This also explains the issue that MSHardeman had with the "cheap bumper" he ordered from Rock Auto. The part number that he showed is the the Front Upper Support not the reinforcement.

I ordered one so I will see what happens. If I get it I will in great shape. If I don't get it, I will be no worse off than I am now. When I took the cladding off of the front, I could literally put what was left of the bumper in a shoebox. I have to do something so I don't mess up the work I have done on the front so far. Thanks for the threads and the concern.

unfortunately, many owners are all too familiar with this issue.

[QUOTE=VX KAT;263326]unfortunately, many owners are all too familiar with this issue.
That is in part why I went ahead and ordered the reinforcement. If it turns out to be true others will have an additional source for a replacement. It may not last any longer than the stock one but it is better than not having one.

If you get it, it might be worth buying some frame/undercarrage sealer and giving it a heavy dose nefore installing it.
