Took this from a Kelly Blue Book site on the VX: "It is the first and only vehicle to date that combines a computer-controlled all-wheel-drive system for on-road driving and a locked-differential low gear four-wheel-drive system for off-road driving." Is it true? Couldn't a Trooper do this? I think what they mean to say is "full-time" all-wheel drive.

Legally it's true ... but it is misleading.

"It is the first and only vehicle to date that combines ..."

I've never verified that but it's probably true.

"...computer-controlled all-wheel-drive system ..."

This is true. Your TOD computer is under the front passenger seat.

"... locked-differential low gear four-wheel-drive system ..."

That's the misleading part. They are referring to the Transfer Case as a differential. While entirely true, I've only heard of anyone using that term once before. Our differentials are not locked (Open in front & LSD in rear). Our transfer case is locked while in 4L ... but that's nothing new or even innovative. It's the TOD portion on the transfer case that's unique.

But isn't that the same as the Trooper set up, except for the full-time aspect?
