I've searched and didn't find much on what paint to use for painting my calipers and also color matching. I did find one thread where back in 2007 a product called G2 was used and they also color match but I didn't see where anyone commented on how the paint has held up over the years.

Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on a product that will color match AND that is durable and long-lasting? I'll go with the G2 (http://www.g2usa.com/product/CBCP.html) if I hear from no one.

Thanks for your input.... :)

Our resident guru on making a VX look purdy used G2.

IIRC, he never posted any complaints about the product so gofer-it.

OK, have to admit, even I wouldn't do them in purple....unless I had OEM backups....hmmm...back ups:?:...gotta think on that :_thinking

I used the ceramic engine block paint, shoot color then clear (using the clear with ceramic).

I had all four calipers powder-coated white, upon re installation one caliper's bleed screw stripped the caliper threads. I bought a new caliper and decided to paint it white to match. No issues so far (3 months ago) and it looked exactly like the powder coated version.

I did mine in red. I just used high temp engine paint. Been on there for over 3 years, no problems.

Yer welcome Dave ... It's what I do.

I'd paint mine 'lello' but ya can't even see the calipers with my rims so it's so low on the priority list that ... well, ain't happenin due to my proclivity for procrastination.

Calipers in white? Man, are you mad!? The whole idea of calipers is to get coated in alien scum! :p If it's any consolation, I am debating whether to powdercoat my cheapo Rota Grids on my STi white, with the already known outcome of ALWAYS dirty wheels with those big brakes. Decisions decisions....

I am still debating the idea of a Brembo or Wilwood kit for the VX. Where there's a will, there's a way.... and where there's a way, there is an empty wallet. :bwgy:

Glad this post came up. Now I have ideas on which kind of paint to use. Need to do the ones on the new Vulva. Dirty plane steel looks ugly through the wheels.

I guess I'm going with the G2 since I can color match to proton yellow.
