My drivers side window usually very slow going up and down but I can get it to go...usually.
Well yesterday it literraly slipped down into the door. I am able to get it back on track - but it gets almost three quarters of the way and is completely frozen. With a lot work I can get it down and then back in the same position......

I ordered the SBC Brackets immediately. I needed to fix it anyway...but now I cant even get it back up...thoughts???:(

Try pulling up and back on the window glass as you roll it up.

You will need to remove inner door panel to fit SBC brackets...
...so maybe do so now, and that'll give better access to window
"workings" to see whats jamming up.

OK....
here's my giant post with many "Window fix" threads and info....

Window problems are probably one of the most common issues on the VX.
They're notorious for binding, sticking, jumping the track, tilting, burning up the motors due to the severe binding....you get the idea..

These threads cover virtually all of the various problems and some fixes.
I collated and saved them all in one place.

As time went on, "most" found the SBC metal brackets fixed the issues. It's what I did.

Get out your Snickers bar, you won't be going anywhere for a while.....:laugho:

It is a big job - not sure that it would have been done with our crew on Sunday or if I can do it. There are detailed instructions and even a video on You Tube. If I find it again - I will send it to you....but it can be found in the search

It looks like we are moving it back - although we need confirmation on that - and I have not recieved the brackets yet due to the storm.
I hope you and your family made out OK - that was a bad hurricane.....

Usually regular tools such as pliers, screwdrivers.

A Good glue such as those that you can mix to create a tight bond is highly recommended.

Scrapper,blades,etc

Gussie,

IIRC, the only tools needed were a phillips screwdriver, a razor blade, & a tube of black RTV (AutoZone, Lowes, Home Depot, ACE, ...).

I've done enough of them that 'start to finish' takes about 30 minutes.

A couple of 'nice to have' items are a roll of duct tape in case you tear your vapor barrier & a can of lubricant for the window tracks.
