Always been a big Forza fan myself. I have all of them and the newest one is great and isn't as much of a simulator as all the others. The DiRT series is a ton of fun too.

In NO particular order...

DIRT, Gran Tourismo, Pure, Burn Out, Flat Out, Motor Storm, most anything with MX vs ATV in the title...and YES my guilty pleasure, while not racing per se, Super Monkey Ball has some fun racing mini games...:mbrasd:

Not a player of the home computer version, but a huge fan of the commercial sit-down arcade version found at prefossional arcade game centers. My two(2) favorites are RUSH 2049 and the Ferrari F355 simulator which both can be linked-up to a maximum of eight(8) players/machines. Both sit-down arcade games are very realistic in both video graphics and steering wheel feedback without being kooky or child-like. An absolute must-try if you ever visit a commercial arcade game center.

Im into dirt, forza, grad tourismo, burn out and need for speed. But I prefer FPS games. I nerded out and preordered the call of duty; black ops 2 care package with the remote control quadrocopter.

Dirt & Grid are both very addicting. :winkgray:

The Need For Speed games are better now that Criterion took them over. Sometimes I need a ridiculous arcade style racing/cop evasion game to balance out the sim style games.

Another vote for Gran Turismo 5.

I met up with ibmx2 ("Hi, Dude"!) one night and he gave me TONS of great advice and instructions, but I'm not very good so I just didn't have the talent to excel. That doesn't diminish the fact that I sure do enjoy it, but apparently the advanced stuff is beyond my skill level. :)

Also, I had regular weekly races with with a group of fellow newbies and we always had an absolute blast over the voice / video system. There was a lot of semi-serious competition... and encouragement... and joking around. LOTS OF FUN!

Re-Volt. Only reason I bought a Dreamcast back in the day.

Most currently, I would have to say the Forza series.

If you want a beauty of a game, check out Project Cars. With a few tweaks (listed on this site), it is amazingly pretty! http://deadendthrills.com/?cat=489

Re-volt was ok, but did you play 4 Wheel Thunder and Hydro Thunder for Dreamcast? Loved those and Crazy Taxi as well back in the day.

I'm a Forza fan but never played it online (Xbox live) yet.

Anyone remember the Road Rash games? Motorcycle racing while beating your opponents with bats and chains. That was a lot of fun.

Yes Road Rash was fun, but I think Motorstorm and Wipeout do the battle racing better :-)

I don't remember motorstorm, wipeout was fun.
What was the game series with killer clown ice cream truck. The cars had weapons. Those were fun to.

Twisted Metal that's what they were called.

I also like the dirt series, looking forward to getting dirt 3 soon.
