Hey all, I thought I would share this information as I know many of us here enjoy 4x4 trails and getting outdoors. Especially in Moab.
There was a letter written to the Obama administration by the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA), requesting that they close certain areas of Moab to increase the preservation of canyonlands. Read below.
Also, see further below for a list of companies that supported this attempted closure. There is good information on blue ribbon coalition's website, as well as Area BFE on facebook has written a letter to each of these companies requesting their take as many offroad enthusiasts use these companies. Its great to see that many of these companies have now been asked to have their name taken off the letter, as they do not support it. Unfortunately, some of the biggest supporters, like CamelBak, have taken a hard stance against 4x4 use in the areas around Canyonlands.
If you flip over to Area BFE's page on Facebook, they have posted all the responses they have received so far regarding this matter. (this is a fresh attempt at closures, this letter was writen this month. Im trying to find a copy of the letter I read this morning so all can see)

This makes me sad because I generally support a large number of companies on this list.
