I made light guard out of the oem speaker covers (rear panels). The turn signal covers are mounted by the oem screws. The driving light covers are formed and glued in place with plastic epoxy.

These are simple covers formed by a hand made press. The grille is formed to match the curves of the light cover. I plan on making 9 covers for the front of the VX:
2 for the turn signals
2 for the running lights
2 for the bumper space by the Lic plate
3 for the grille area (plan on keeping the VX Fangs there)

Here is a pic of the wooden press made. First make a card board cutout, then make a match out of a piece of wood, then the outer mold. A Jig saw and a large file is all I used. After that a simple vise or C Clamps work as the press. Be careful if using softter wood (like plywood), it may break or crack.

I plan in the long run to order new covers for the turn signals. Originally I was planing on replacing them with smoke lens, now I am leaning towards clear covers.

What does the rest of the VX community think? clear or smoke?

I have smoked markers but I personally think the clear look better. Can you still buy clear lenses and if so, where?

I am looking for the link for you. I saw it a few months ago. If I don't find it soon, maybe Kat will jump in and post it.

Yep, you are correct.... This set is from a 94-95 Rodeo & Passport. These are a rare size, 16x7.5 same offset as the rest. I sent these out for powder coating a couple yeares ago.

Your lenses from Klearz lasted longer than the side lenses I bought from him (this company is just a guy working out of his home garage.) It took a month and two emails before he finally shipped mine. Two months later one of them cracked. The guy promised to replace it but never followed through. A few months after that, the other lens started holding water. Frustrated, I asked for a refund but he said he couldn't afford that right now and offered to send replacements. Again, it never happened. My experience: build quality is poor & customer service matches.
Buyer beware.

I had to reseal klearz sidemarkers before I put them on - just blow some shop air into - to see all holes at where lenz glued to base.

Thanks for the link and good info. Seems like the quality might not be worth the price. I was talking to Jason (making knobs) and he thought he might also be able to make clear lenses. Could be an better option?

On a side note: I like the bumper Dmitrikr.

I've been thinking about something similar but with the square tubing embedded into the cladding so I keep my approach angle. This pic helps me get a visual, thanks.

VXorado,
I like GMCs turn signals, but don't know who is making good sidemarkers.

front bumper- off the police cruizer little bit modified to fit- not all the time on truck - just when I need to push dead car in the shop. That's why it is so low up front so I can use it for small cars as well.It has thick rubber padding up front so no scratches on other car's bumper.

All the grilles used are from Vx rear panels

http://i1265.photobucket.com/albums/jj507/VxSport99/AAAA0035_zps095eb1ef.jpg

Next the center grille.... planning on leaving the fangs on. So it will be a three piece unit. Haven't chosen the material yet.

I did finally get the last 3 grille pieces done. There are now 9 different inserts in the front end.
