View Full Version : Opinions on low rolling resistance tires?

I could have swore I posted this already but perhaps not.

It's time for some new treads, so I'm tapping the community for feedback for your input on getting low rolling resistance tires.

My own experience on another vehicle showed approximately 4mpg increase (23 to 27) and if I can get that increase on the VX then woohoo!

Thoughts? Rants? Opinions? Ponderings?

Rolling resistance = friction = traction

Low rolling resistance = low traction

Back when i was selling tires i went through some tire workshops and asked one of the reps about braking distance and skidpad traction numbers. They just shrugged and said we didn't test those things only fuel economy related items

With all those voids, you will have a lot less sticky rubber contacting the road and creating drag. Maybe these would be a good choice...

Betcha top speed with those tracks is 5 MPH or less.
