been dreaming of a 3d printer. how do you like yours? Ive wanted one and have been saving for over a year now. now that i have one my house is humming with the printer running non stop... I love it although the first few days of setup and calibration were very frustrating. Some skill is involved... It certainly wasnt as easy to setup or user friendly as Makerbot makes it seem to be. So be warned with that info before you drop any money. IT is a precision machine and should be advertised as one... But to think that 20 years ago it took thousands of dollars and man hours and large machines to make a prototype now can be done on our desktops and within a few hours to have a small part in our hand, with the consumables costing about $0.50. Simply mind boggling!

The blow dryer and some fishing line trick worked like a charm for me! Finish up with goo gone and clean spotlessly with alcohol before applying the new badge. Refer to this step by step youtube for more info:

Mine showed up today. Thanks!
I did wonder how you could do chrome "plating" since I ordered the chrome. After receiving it, I see it's more like bright silver. I've often used "Chrome" paint -- made by Duplicolor. It looks much brighter than your average silver and mimics polished aluminum.
I've also learned to...and polished aluminum. Though some mistake polished aluminum for chrome, their is a marked difference in shine. Chrome is WAY more like a mirror.
So...I'm not sure I'd call your chrome "chrome". It's very well made though! Thanks!

Your very welcome! Glad you got the package so fast. I agree that "chrome" is probably not the best word choice... Unfortunately TRUE chroming of plastics are unbelievably expensive and extremely hazardous chemicals are involved. Believe me ive looked into it. Id have to sell a LOT of VX's to make the investment worth it. The next best thing is krylon metallic and a generous clear coat. Be sure to post pics of the orange, im curious!:yeso: Thanks again to ALL who order my Vehicross goodies!

You can also just use chrome vinyl and wrap them, it's really not that hard and if done right it will look awesome and last a long time. From my experience and research it's almost impossible to get a real mirror chrome finish from rattle can chrome paints. The vinyl looks like the real deal and is removable so if someone wanted to change the color of it, it's as simple as removing the vinyl.

no, it's painted a bright silver, not true chrome,

Removing the ISUZU badge is super easy.
Use a Hairdryer, warm up the badge, use something to start prying it up at one corner but be careful not to scratch the black plastic it's stuck to. Keep heat on it to keep it flexible and the glue pliable. Some use fishing line to slip behind it and pull it up.
Use 3M double stick tape to apply the emblem.

Since I'm pretty new to the VX community I read on the forums that a guy by the name of Jason Mooney makes VX grill logos and spare tire screws. I was unsure if he still was making these items since nothing had been posted about them on the forums in a long time. I have been talking to Jason for the last couple weeks or so and I was happy to hear he was still making them! I met him the other day as well, he actually lives pretty close to me. I have nothing but kind words to say about Jason, he even made me the square clips I was missing for the spare tire cover as well! So I've anyone is interested in some VX stuff like this just send him an email, he can be reached at tribalflames621@hotmail.com
